Not in-game but on the game page

The gameplay area is vertical. For the theme: the binary representation of the level activates your weapon. Also you have a binary upgrade choice.

Definitely felt like some resolution issues playing in web. feel like I was missing some stuff at the top/bottom.

But the gameplay was fun, the choices were nice. And I really liked the pixel art.

Great work, got a bit stuttery (sfx, frame rate) and glitchy around level 9.

The screen space used is a lot for a Web based game and reducing it but allowing full screen mode may help with performance.

Maybe a points allocation feature and other attributes could make for a more controllable weapon selection.

E.g. features unlock at 1,2,4,8,16 levels and each wave allows you to toggle 1,2,3 features.

And maybe other features e.g. shields, bombs, drones, special weapons, speed ect.

Thank you for playing and the suggestions :)

I didn't really tested it that much in web it's more intented for playing locally.

I had some Ideas for upgrades planned, but didn't have enough time (the typically Jam experience).

Love the look of this game and the particle effects are cool.

This was super fun!  I have no idea what the choices were for upgrades (maybe I missed that part?) but I had fun and lasted a lot longer than I normally do in this type of game.  The graphics and particles were fantastic.  I loved the two-toned color scheme and the sound.  Great job!

I'm glad too hear that you had fun :) The number in the upgrades get added to your level on the right. Based on which bit of the level is active or not, the corresponding weapon is active. So there is a little bit of a puzzle element, when predicting the outcome (based on how familiar/fast you are with binary).

This game was really well-made. The binary upgrade system was very unique, and I liked the choice you get between health and extra upgrades. The movement was a tad too slippery for my liking, but that's a minor complaint. Good job!

Developer

Thanks for playing and the feedback. Yeah I think the movement thing is a preference, altough in bullet hell games I thinks more precise controlls are more common than a slippery one.
