Hello everyone! And welcome back to the second installment of the Sweet to Sour Game Jam! I'm so excited to be back and I can't wait to see some old faces returning from the last jam as well as hopefully some new faces too! Just like last year, this will be a non-ranked casual game jam where we game developers can just hang out and share games

1) No AI art or ChatGPT can be used in your projects. I know it's a heated debate here, but let's just keep things simple!

2)  Demos and unfinished projects are completely acceptable!

3) You are allowed to work by yourself or teams!

4) You may use assets created by other creators, but ensure that you go through their terms and conditions!

5) You are only allowed to start working on the actual game once the jam starts!

6) Constructive criticism  is a good thing, but being mean is not. Mocking other creators and their games will not be tolerated here. I've said it once and I'll say it again: go touch grass. The sun misses you

7) If your game contains any heavy/dark or NSFW content, please specify on the game page and/or at the beginning of the game!

8) Discrimination/offensive material about any race, culture, religion etc. is strictly prohibited!

9) The most important rule: have fun!

This year, the theme is going to be the opposite of  last year's. Instead of crafting a game that has a seemingly innocent and cute premise that is actually revealed to be dark and twisted, this year we're going to craft games that seem scary on the outside but is actually really wholesome and cute when you get into it

As much as I like games like Doki Doki Lit Club and Bonnie's Bakery, I feel like that type of genre has kind of become a little saturated lately. Look at the cute animals! Oh no now they're killing each other and oh wait now they're cannibals or something. It's angstier than a teenager in the 2000s at Hot Topic that says on repeat: "Shut up, you're not my real dad!" (which is a lot of angst)

So let's take a more unique approach with more bunnies and less blood :3 I thought this theme might present more challenges from a narrative point of view while still being interesting

Thank you for reading and I hope to see your entry soon. Good luck, everyone!
