Maple Syrup Jam is a celebration of all things Canadian, brought to life through the diverse and imaginative realm of game development. 

This jam encourages creators to explore the rich culture, stunning landscapes, historical milestones, and quirky charms of Canada, while constructing a game that resonates with the true north spirit. Whether you're a Canuck or have never set foot on Canadian grounds, we invite you to dive into what makes Canada unique and craft a game that pays homage to this beautiful country.

Theme: Your task is to create a game of any genre that encapsulates Canadian themes or elements. Whether it's a journey through the Rockies, a narrative woven around Canadian folklore, an arcade game featuring a moose or just someone trying to find maple syrup, your game should shine  with Canadian vibes. 

The extent to which Canada is represented in your game is entirely up to you - make it as subtle or as pronounced as you wish!

Rules:

1. All entries must be have the majority of their work done during the jam dates. It's fine to brainstorm or create concepts before the jam though.
2. Games submitted to multiple jams are accepted.
3. Demos/Unfished games are accepted!
4. Participants can work solo or in teams of any size.
5. All game engines and platforms are welcome.
6. Your game can be of any genre, but it must incorporate Canadian themes or elements.
7. Submissions open on February 5th 2024  and close on April 5th 2024.
8. No Bigotry, Hate Speech, Promotion of violence, racism, sexism, or ableism of any kind. 
9. No NSFW entries.
10. Be kind and respectful to fellow jammers. Let's create a supportive and fun community!
11. Please include screenshots of your game on your game's itch page. This helps use filter out spam entries/viruses.

Submission: Submit your game on the Maple Syrup Jam itch.io page by April 5th 2024. Make sure to include a brief description of your game and how it ties to Canadian themes or elements.

Judging: This is a non-Ranked jam. It's just for fun. There will be no judging.
