A bit hard to control, but a fun idea for this jam

Good game. Liked the core mechanic of combining blocks into any shape after heating them. Felt like a real forge. The level progression was good, atleast until the rent part started :) In terms of controls, moving the pieces around was simple enough. But scrolling the wheel while holding down the left mouse button was not the easiest of maneuvers. Actually in the first level I thought I had to bring pieces into the right orientation to get it accepted, but learned later that it was not required. Good music and suitable art. Well done overall!

Cool idea and nice execution. I liked your music too! It just need a bit of polish because sometimes weird stuff happens like delivery is hidden behind the targetplattform or they are not merging. Good job!

Really cool idea.  5 stars for originality.

Very cool concept, the controls are a bit finnicky, and sometimes the blocks just randomly attach to things. Nonetheless, still a fun game to play, good job.

Great idea, very original and cool take on the theme. However, the controls were very hard to use, stuff would often just not stick together, specially when trying to merge horizontally. Sometimes a piece would not be accepted even though it matches exactly what's asked. I think the game would be awesome if these little problems were fixed.

Ah it's Maaack from Maaack's game template! When I saw your post on GWJ discord I knew I had to look for it on release. And no surprised on the creativity! 5* for the concept! Heating and forging parts together is really cool! I faced some issues with hitbox detection when submitting some pieces, but luckily they were floating behind the Goal masks. Might be better for the pieces Z layer to be in front of the Goal Masks in this fringe cases! There's so much potential here to be built into this concept!

:-)

That's a solid suggestion with resorting the layers. I feel a little silly that I didn't do it that way. Glad you think there is some potential here. Unfortunately, the physics and colliders led to a lot of technical issues throughout the project. I'm sorry they still impacted your experience, but I appreciate you playing and leaving feedback.

This was such a clever idea! You've actually allowed the player to forge and create anything they can think of but with a cool twist to challenge us to build the correct shapes. The physics can be temperamental at times and sometime pieces were rejected or just disappeared for no reason so maybe a bug in there somewhere. But overall a very cool idea with just a couple of minor gremlins to sort out.

Thanks for the playing! I'm glad you liked the idea and appreciated the creative freedom. I think the mechanics plagued the project with more technical difficulties than I anticipated, though, and left me sorting what appeared like minor issues for a couple critical days. Sorry they still impacted your experience, but I appreciate you participating in the game experiment and leaving feedback!

I like the concept a lot.  Some of the matching patterns and forging pieces don't accept and I'm not sure why.  Overall though, I like it.  I also like just how simple the fire is.

Cool concept :)
