Hi Brolin, Sorry to hear that.
The ground is using a shader that makes the texture of the rocks, cliffs and the rest have a 3D pumps and stuff like that, but in-order to render all these details it requires Direct X 11 or above to be installed.
Can you please let me know if your computer specs are above the minimum tested specs that I mentioned in the front page?

Very strange it should work just fine, since it works with lower specs. The only thing that would cause the black terrain (ground) is Direct X
As I mentioned it needs Direct x 11 or above to be installed, if you'd like to check follow this link:
