Gathering Primary Research for my college work! :)

Hey there, I am looking into details for my college work and I have some questions that I need to ask for certain areas of development. Here is what I am trying to make for my college work, the basis of the game is basically similar to tarkov, to create a somewhat hardcore survival and realistic game where you have to gather loot during certain runs whilst there are other players around that you can either socialize with or fight against. The setting for the game will be based around London and other parts of the UK since I can gather primary research since I can just travel to these places for inspiration.

Art.

Q: For the art style of my game I am going to try and focus on something simple because of the short time frame that I have, I want to go for something similar to the game Unturned, so low poly, is this a good idea? would the art style of the game effect the game play of the game?

Programming.

Q: Since this is the first time I will be making a proper game in Unity, is there anything that I should look into and any tips of what to do when I run into any sort of coding errors?

Design.

Q: For the design of the game I have many ideas for levels, but I am not completely certain what I want for the game, so for a beta or test build for the game, what type of weapons would you like to see and also what type of setting would you like to be in a survival game, I am leaning towards a recently run down city, so not everything completely destroyed, but with abandoned streets and things like that, or would something like a full on Hollywood looking apocalyptic setting be better for this?

If my questions are a bit vague or they just simply didn't make sense please tell me and I will try to help out, because I am not really that good with asking questions :D Thank you in advanced for your time :)
