The Ruins have been waiting.
The time has come to reveal their Secrets.

The very first alpha of Quantum Ruins is finally out! I've been working on the game for 4 months and have challenged myself to release a demo before the end of the year.

Alpha 1.0 focuses on the 2 most important aspect of the game: Exploration and Platforming. From the start you'll be able to jump (space bar) and move the camera upwards/downwards (up/down) which will allow you to better observe the environment.

To finish the demo, you'll need to unlock 2 upgrades. For the more adventurous, collecting coins and the special "pieces" will lead you to unlock 2 extra upgrades.

The game is still in very early development, bugs are very likely to be present in the game. If you encounter any noticeable bug, I'd be very grateful if you shared it with me so that I can fix them. Our Discord Server has a specific channel for bug reports.

Hope you'll have fun in the ruins. I've tried my best!

Oops, I got stuck. Ran into the side of this platform and the character got stuck with the running animation still going. :)

Thank you for reporting the bug!

Probably linked to the 'down' button being pressed while landing after a jump. The character's movement gets disabled when you 'look up/down' and it doesn't get enabled back correctly.

had that too.
too bad that the game doest seem to save.

played until i got like 70 coins, so quite far.
then had the running issue, so I restartet the game.
on the screen there was new game, which i didnt want, so I ran to the right.
some guy had some dialog, I pressed some button and back I was with a new game.
still had attack and walljump but still back at the start with 0 coins :-/

Thank you for playing the demo man! 70 coins is a lot indeed, I'm sorry to read you got stuck too.

I'm currently rewriting the part of the state machine which causes the game to softlock when switching state. I'm going to release a new version of this alpha without a lot of these bugs. It's a work in progress ;)

No, unfortunately the saving system doesn't work (yet!). I'm currently learning how to build one properly!

Been playing the game for quite a few hours now and I've generated a list of bugs:

-Holding up or down while restarting causes softlock. (Same applies to returning to main screen)
-Pressing 'm' to open the map then pausing and unpausing unfreezes the game resulting in the map still displayed on screen.
-Standing on the very right edge of an enemys head can cause some very weird stuff to happen such as the enemy stuck in place, facing one direction while sliding backwards, and even clipping through the floor.
-Pausing the game the pressing 'm' to open the map and then again to close it allows you to unfreeze the game and control Okoro with the pause menu still up.
-Holding down arrow while on top of an enemy causes you to float in the air once the enemy has moved from under you.
-Restarting while in water can cause Okoro to respawn in a glitched state where the game is softlocked and he is frozen in his animation.
-Pausing and pressing 'main screen', then reaching the edge of the screen and transitioning to a new area while main screen is loading at just the right time can cause the game to spaz out and clip you through the floor to areas you're probably not supposed to be in. (NOTE: I've spent over half an hour attempting to replicate this avail and so I presume that this bug is very precise and frame perfect ).
-In one of my attempts replicating the last bug, the screen was stuck black while the gui and music were still there and pressing space still played the sound of Okoro jumping.

Very fun game, gonna try  finding more bugs again soon. =3

And also the discord link says it's invalid or expired.
