THIS GAME SHOULD BE on STEAM ALPHA !!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE IT

James

Am I the only one who has trouble getting the hammer menu to rotate properly? Is there something other than moving the mouse around spastically that gets it to rotate?

I would like to know how many people are working in the game

Some introduction that explains the (history)

one thing i would like to see is a better way to handle food and water, almost like they need specific slots, i also wish i could get water without having to use e.

great game though, but i do wish i didnt have to rearrange my inventory so much to buld things, or to cook and make water

Carrots! Please add Carrots!

(+1)

Add a back story to how you got stranded. also add projectile wepons.

(+1)

I would like to be able to place walls right up against stairs

(1 edit)

I played it for 4 hours straight and it seems pretty decent.I didn't get bored once so that's a huge plus.The game is so simple and amazing...but I noticed that the more you play the less barrels and planks you get so you could fix that.You should also add other animals like crabs (food),more fishes,diffrent sharks (sharks have diffrent abilities,so if you have a tiger shark they will only attack you while youre in water and only a hammerhead can destroy buildings),cows (milk , food),sheep (for bed , decoration).Also add plants like wheat (bread) and grass (decoration).You could add new constructions like bed (for passing time ,faster growth of plants but has a chance of 2 shark attacks because you sped up time),fences (so cows and sheeps can't escape),doors (decoration),reinforced foundation/floor (Double more health than normal foundations or floors).Also when you place a pillar on a floor/foundation they are taken and you can't put walls on that spot.

That's all for now :) Maybe I'll find bugs or maybe I'll think of another suggestion.Thanks for this game I've been playing it for 4 hours straight and after this post I'll probably play another 3 hours.

Keeping making this game great it has alot of potential.

Please add scuba diving.

(+2)

I think they should add more natural effects like wind ripples in the water etc.

here's a few ideas:

A new tree type for more strong/ durable weapons/foundations/items

More fishes+ fish tank?

rare ball you can find that says WILSON in blood (castaway reference, add this plz)

bait for better fish? EX no bait= mackerel and rare bait = bass?

a system where some items are more uncommon than others

BEDS PLZ

day night cycle

AND NOW FOR PEEVS:

You can barley see the leafs while floating it water (forgot name)

The shark teleports to the fogline once he dies

items fly above the fogline in distance

items floating towards you dont blend w/ fog

Otherwise a great and creative game! cant wait for more updates!

(+2)(-1)

New trap idea

There should be Lobster traps so you can catch lobsters or other crustaceans. It could maybe use bait like smaller fish that you would catch with the fishing rod such as a herring. :)

COLLECTED IDEAS + MY IDEAS

NOTE: All of these ideas are not mine. About 60% is what i collected from reading tons of ideas on the "Suggestions forum". I've only made this thread for people to see all the ideas that are currently talked about and to have everything in one big thread which makes it much cleaner.

GAME PRICE SUGGESTION: 15 - 20$ When it's finished ( i suggest uploading the game on steam for more people to find ). But it shouldn't be less than 8$.

INTRO: Maybe like ARK, you wake up looking at the sky, you get up and look around you and the only thing you see is a small raft and a shark.

============================================================================

Game system:

1. More resolutions:

  • Good for weaker computers.

2. More system requirements:

  • Suited for all operating system.

3. More settings:

  • Sensitivity.
  • Brightness.
  • Motion Blur.
  • Keybindings.
  • Graphics (in game instead of on start).
  • Inverted mouse. ===== NEW =====

4. Controller support:

  • Easy relaxing on whilst using the controller.

5. Difficulty:

  • Easy - slow hunger/thirst drain, more health.
  • Medium - balanced hunger/thirst drain, decent amount of health.
  • Hard - fast hunger/thirst drain, low health.
  • Creative - flight, structures / items don't require resources, no natural disasters, no sharks, infinite health.

6. Environment:

  • Day / Night cycle - 15 minute each, that means one day is 30min.
  • Seasoning:

* Winter - very cold, hunger drain increased, lots of snow, need fire to stay warm ( fire torch ).

* Spring - Food grows faster, more often bird attacks.

* Summer - very hot, thirst drain increased, less shark attacks ( the sharks are on vacation ).

* autumn - food grows slower, lots of rain.

  • Thunder - during rain, rarely strikes a random structure and sets it on fire. Fire spread can be toggled in world options. Water is used to extinguish the fire.

7. Character customization:

  • Armor:

* Thatch armor - reduced freezing.

* Wooden armor - balanced between thatch and metal armor.

* Metal armor - less damaged from enemies and fall damage.

  • EXP system:

* Gain EXP from farming, collecting, killing enemies and building structures.

* When leveling up, you gain points which can be used to upgrade player stats and learn new stuff to craft.

  • EXP upgrades:

* Stamina increase - Stamina goes down by running, attacking, cutting trees or other exhausting activities. Stamina goes back

up when resting in a bed / on a chair or by drinking water.

* Health increase.

* Hunger / Thirst capacity increase.

* Inventory size increase.

* Movement speed increase.

* Weather resistance increase.

* Attack speed increase.

* Oxygen capacity increase - Oxygen used in the "UNDERWATER ADVENTURE", more about it further down the thread.

* Fall damage resistance increase.

* Learn new crafting recipes.

  • Character model:

* Change how your character looks like.

8. Multiplayer option:

  • Easy difficulty not available - would be to easy when on multiplayer.

9. Underwater adventure:

  • Discover cave systems to gather ores and collectibles.
  • Discover new enemies and food options - more fish.
  • Oxygen bar indicating how much oxygen you have left whilst being underwater.
  • Find diving gear parts scattered around the sea to craft the diving suit, air canister and rebreather.
  • Sharks attacks when they are nearby instead of when you have contact with water - more sharks spread out instead of just 1 at a time.
  • Find oil to use as fuel for Food / Water cooking pot - wood and thatch can also be used as fuel. No more infinite burning Food / Water cooking pots.
  • Slowly freezing to death when going to deep into the sea without diving gear.
  • Find blueprints for crafting recipes scattered around - cannot be learned by using EXP points.

10. Small islands:

  • Find resources.
  • More birds arounds.
  • CANNOT build on - building on the island ruins the concept of surviving on a raft.

11. Maps ===== NEW =====

  • Default map - no change.
  • Arctic - The Winter lasts longer, is colder, hunger goes down faster and resources move slower in the water.
  • Tropical - The Summer lasts longer, is warmer, thirst goes down faster and more sharks are active.
  • Coral Reef - The spring lasts longer, bigger sharks which will spawn deeper in the ocean and avoid shallow areas and you can harvest coral for new kinds of items.

============================================================================

In-game items, structures and entities:

1. More food to grow:

  • Carrots.
  • Tomatoes.
  • Cucumbers.
  • Bananas.
  • Apples.

2. More types of trees:

  • Apple tree - has a chance of dropping between 2-4 apples.
  • Oak tree - gives more thatch.
  • Birch tree - gives more wood.

3. Traps:

  • Wooden spikes - sharks takes 3 hits then swims away but does 30 damage to the spike platform. Does 10 damage to metal spikes.
  • Fish nets - catches fish but is not as efficient as fishing by yourself. It's just there to farm food for you whilst doing other things.

4. Enemies:

  • Piranha - attacks often but are a one hit with spear. Can be eaten.
  • Bird - attacks players now and then, takes 3 spear hits to die, gives feathers which are used to craft arrows.

5. Weapons:

  • Weak bow - can only use wooden arrows.
  • Advanced bow - can only use metal arrows.
  • Hunting knife - used to skin the shark for skin before killing it.

6. Tools:

  • Fire torch - used to keep yourself warm during winter and nighttime.

7. Decorations:

  • Bed - sleep through the night and automatically saves the game. Restores health but leaves you with low Hunger and thirst.
  • Torch - placed on wall or floor to light up the place during nighttime.
  • Table.
  • Chair - sit down to restore stamina faster.
  • Door.
  • Ladder.

8. Items:

  • Bandages: When you get hurt, theres a slight chance to start bleeding. Unless you use a bandage, you will slowly bleed to death. Being in the water whilst bleeding attracts more sharks.

9. Item effects:

  • Food spoilage.
  • Tool / Weapon durability.

10. Structures:

  • Halved walls - horizontal.
  • 45° roof.

============================================================================

Changes to existing stuff:

1. Food / Water cooking pot:

  • Inventory to fill with fuel such as wood, thatch or oil ( from caves ).

2. Improved GUI for building:

  • Easier to select building options.
  • Listed building options with several columns and rows instead of circle.
  • Can use points from leveling up to learn a structure which gives you the option to build it.

3. Trees grow slower:

  • Harder to progress in the game and not finishing the game in couple hours.

4. BUG FIXES:

  • A bug where you cannot break certain placed structures / decorations.

5. Inventory:

  • Shift + click to quickly move stuff to / from hotbar to inventory.
  • Right click to halve a stack.
  • Increased stack size - maybe from 10 to like 20-30.

============================================================================

Thread updates:

1. Recently added stuff:

  • MAPS - listed as number 11 under "Game system".
  • INVERTED SETTING - listed as number 3 under "Game system"

2. Recently edited stuff:

  • RECALCULATED TOTAL % OF WHAT IDEAS I HAD FROM 60% TO 40% - some ideas were already posted, but I went more in detail about them and the more ideas I find on this forums the less total % I will own of this thread. Thats unless I come up with stuff as well.
  • EDITED THE GAME PRICE SUGGESTION - added that it should be 15-20$ when its finished rather than 15-20$ directly. Also that the game shouldn't be less than 8$.
(1 edit) (+1)

One problem about your post...It's the price.Some people can't buy a 15-20$ game and it's still basic even if you can have fun for 4 hours straight but that's overpriced for a game that you can finish in 2 hours max...And I didn't notice your own suggestion.

15-20$ could be a price when the game is finished with tons of features. It shouldn't be less than 8$ because then its to cheap, and to put a game up on steam for 100$ then also to upgrade the game engine and servers would cost a lot of money, so they need to earn a bit.

After I checked for more ideas I saw that some people posted some of the ideas I came up with myself before I did, so technically they posted the idea first but I was writing it down before they posted it. In addition, I went more in detail about certain ideas which most of people didn't do, from what I've seen. For example, Underwater adventure, character stats, EXP system, game settings and environment.

Hi it would be great if there are different animals because the shark is already something easier, it would also be nice if you could play online or in lan and also if you could put more tools or weapons, also if you could go down to the ocean and there is some island With npcs to trade or exchange

(+3)

New biomes would be great for this game. Maybe add in temperature some time later on as well.

Location ideas:

  1. Ocean(original)
  2. Arctic: Colder, you need an open flame to keep warm. Maybe another type of shark? Water decreases your temperature drastically. Contents in barrels are frozen, and need to be defrosted by putting them in your hotbar and standing near the flame. Trees take longer to grow and can freeze a few minutes after growing to maturity. Same for plants. Overall difficulty: Medium-Hard.
  3. Tropical: Warmer, (if clothes are added) taking off clothes will keep you cool during the day. Swimming cools you down as well. Instead of one shark, there's a group of small sharks that take much longer than the regular shark to chew your raft, and only take one spear stab to stop attacking, but more than one can attack at a time. Plants grow faster. Overall difficulty: Easy.
  4. Reef: Coral reefs spawn near your raft, providing coral(which would be a rare resource in the game, more on it below) when broken with an axe. There could be different types of coral, such as pink(nothing special), red(toxic, drains your health slowly when you touch it), and green(toxic, drains all of your stats slowly). You can also wade in shallow water(still drains your fatigue, albeit slower), which can be found frequently further away from your starting point. There's a large shark, similar to the regular shark, but it avoids shallow areas(it cannot cross onto shallow areas), and smaller sharks, which swarm you in the shallow areas should you fall into them(They can be killed off with one spear stab). Both sharks attack the raft(smaller sharks are the same as the smaller sharks in tropical). Overall difficulty: Medium.
New "stuff":
  1. Coral: Coral can be used to make stronger weapons(Axe, Spear), special objects(not sure what though), and spikes for your raft(description below). Weapons made with Coral can destroy faster and deal more damage, but they get damaged with each use, breaking apart when used up. Coral can rarely be found floating in the water or in barrels.
  2. Spikes: Spikes can be made out of wood, coral, or scrap. Wooden spikes deal less damage and last less than the other variants, Scrap spikes deal normal damage and last longer, and Coral spikes deal more damage, but are harder to make. Scrap spikes need 10 pieces of scrap, 6 planks, and 4 rope. Coral spikes need 3 pieces of scrap, 5 coral, 6 planks, and 4 rope. Wooden spikes need 2 pieces of scrap, 9 planks, and 4 rope. Spikes can only be placed around the base of your raft. At first, the spikes have the same chance of being attacked as the other tiles, but once it gets attacked by a shark, it has a lower chance of being attacked than other tiles. Wooden spikes can't kill any variant of shark(on this list, small or big) in one hit(2 hits for small, 8 hits for big) and only last for 5 attacks from a small shark and 3 attacks from a large shark. Scrap spikes and Coral spikes can kill small sharks in one hit, and their meat gets stuck on the spikes(can be seen visually, and can be collected the same way items are from item nets). Scrap spikes can kill the large shark in 5 hits and can last 9 attacks from a small shark and 5 attacks from a large shark. Coral spikes can kill the large shark in 3 hits and can last 11 attacks from a small shark and 7 attacks from a large shark.
  3. Reinforced raft parts: You can reinforce raft parts with the hammer(like repairing). You need Scrap to reinforce the parts. Reinforced raft parts have 200 health.
  4. Weather: It would be nice to have some weather added in. Maybe rain causes plants to grow faster?
  5. Sign of wear: I feel like the parts of the raft attacked by the shark are changed depending on the health. The lower in health it is, the more chewed(if attacked by a shark) and broken it should look.

Can you make it so that when we die, we can reload to our last save? I hate building an elegant raft and then losing it all to one silly mistake. Can you at least make it an option? Thank you. Nice game by the way.
