Hello Again!

You may have seen me around the indie game sphere. I am the founder of a hobbyist development team called BitMouse Digital and we are currently looking for a level designer!

Our Team!

I am the project director and lead writer. We have two Godot programmers, a composer, a writer, and two artists.

The Project!

Spiritwood is a story-driven RPG that focuses on creating art, making friends, and improving the beautiful world you play in. We will have quests, friendships, puzzles, and more for you to explore and learn.

The World!

The town of Port Idowis is a creative, locally sustained, and close-knit community with a busy urban-ish development and slow paced rural-ish locale. We want Port Idowis to feel realistic and alive. Your hand in this will be working alongside our artists to create, arrange, and scale the map, as well as internal rooms. You will also help with other art related side tasks like differentiating between accessible (playable) and non-accessible (non-playable) areas, or making a map workup to scale for our artists to build on top of. Art experience is preferred but not required.

Commitment!

We are looking for a new, enthusiastic member of our team! You will be along with us for the long-term journey of Spiritwood's creation and hopefully see it through to the end! We are working with zero budget at the moment so compensation is currently full credit (even if you leave the project).

If you think you would be the right person for this position or have any questions, you can add me on Discord @_cardboardbox or email me at cardboardbox.bmd@mail.com (not gmail)

Thanks for the read! :]

Wondering if you're also looking for a translator?

Hey Moose! We will be translating the game eventually but not currently looking at the moment. You can always add me on Discord and reach out to me periodically if you'd like updates on production, or follow me here on itch.io to see when I am looking for translators. Thank you! :]

Bump!!! Still looking!

Could you elaborate a little bit on how the gameplay will be like? Also, are there any requirements for this position (e.g.: experience in the field and knowing how to navigating Godot's UI)?

Yeah! The gameplay is gonna be akin to games like Undertale and Graveyard Keeper where it's a mix of overworld exploration and interaction and UI-based minigames, ours will be focused around creating art. As for position requirements, we mostly just want someone with experience doing level design. Being familiar with Godot is definitely helpful but not necessary. We'd like to find someone who is somewhat familiar with how game art is created as they are going to be directly collaborating with our art team to create the world of Spiritwood.
