The Itch Desktop App thinks the mac version is not compatible with the new 64-bit mac operating systems. This may be reducing download rates, as it prevents most mac users from downloading the game through the itch desktop app- they must use the website instead. 

I am currently running the game on a 64-bit mac, I'll let you know if I have any issues. 

Can you run uname -p from the terminal? What OS version are you on?
