Please note: this thread is intended to be the place for self-promotion.

Please keep blatant self-promotion out of the other design threads.

This thread is for you to tell others about your  projects using any of the many other tabletop system.

Secret Dragons

In this bare-bones role-playing game, you are dragons who have taken the form of common folk in order to explore their world & learn what it’s like to be a mere mortal in service to others.

https://elstiko.itch.io/secret-dragons

I'm sharing this one because it's the first thing I made which I thought was pretty enough and innovative enough to be worthy of posting on itch. I hope more people try it, and that some of them like it, because it was something I really enjoyed dreaming up.

I'm now working on something prettier and simpler, about solemn pilgrimages across a fantasy world.

 Hearts of Magic: Threads Entangled

A hack of Mobile Frame Zero: Firebrands about fey nobles, arcanist-bureaucrats, and anarchist witches falling for their enemies, fighting with their friends, and allying with their rivals, amid a struggle for a magepunk fantasy city.

fadingroots.itch.io/hearts

Hearts of Magic: Threads Entangled is based on Mobile Frame Zero: Firebrands, and is made up of ten games:

  • Solitaire - what were you doing? what have we heard about you?
  • A Chase - do you have the nerve to pursue?
  • A Conversation Over Food - at ease together, or a tense meal?
  • A Dance - when the music ends, will I see you again?
  • A Free-for-all - why do we fight, and what are the stakes?
  • Meeting Sword to Sword - steel meets steel, gaze meets gaze - who will blink?
  • An Oblique Discussion - how can I tell you the things I can not say?
  • Stealing Time Together - alone, together, with a gentle "may I?"
  • Weaving a Spell - how do the two of us make magic greater than either alone?
  • A Wizard's Battle - can you resist the full strength of my powers?

it's for 3-5 players, with no materials necessary beyond a coin to flip, and intended for one-shot play with no prep and no GM. It's perfect for new players and veteran story gamers alike!

Children of Water and Land

A softly Lovecraftian game hacked from Honey Heist (@gshowitt), in which you play as Deep One hybrids, with lives and families on land but a family and home waiting for you beneath the waves as well; by the end you will decide whether to balance your life between the two, or disappear into the water forever.

https://mxkit.itch.io/children

The game itself is 2 pages long, with a 3rd page consisting of random tables for any GM and players who want a little help figuring out what kind of game they want to play. The framework should be suited for any kind of game, from slice-of-life all the way to heists, high-speed chases, and battles. It should be playable with as few as 2 people (one GM and one player), but can support as many players as the GM feels like running the game for. You can download the txt file for free, or get the somewhat prettier and easier to read pdf for $3.

Road to Nowhere is my simple hack of Archipelago, to make it into a surreal road trip story, about traveling trough strange parallel dimensions and deepening friendships along the way.

I debated if I should share this here since it was my first attempt at this ever, and I did it for a jam so had tight time constraints, but I'm going to do it anyway because I'd like people to give it a look. Anyway, here's my game:

Into the Woods...

Overview

You’ve lived in these woods for many years. It’s treated you well all this time. The passing of each season has brought with it great beauty, but it has also presented unique hardships. Still, you managed to always make do and survive. Lately, you’ve noticed the forest has begun to change as less people dare to venture into this serene, magical place. Now only the Hunters rarely cross your path. This doesn’t bother you though, you’ll always do as you have and survive.

Into the Woods… is a solo tabletop role-playing experience that tasks you with surviving a full year in an ever-evolving forest. There will be magic, whimsy… and of course, danger! As the year progresses, the challenges you face will grow but you’ll have to overcome that adversity in order to survive.

You can give it a look by clicking right here!

I didn't get to playtest this before the deadline of the jam, so I'm sure that there are a few bugs or little things I could do to make things better, so feedback is very welcome. All I ask is you keep things constructive and try to let me know not only what could be improved, but what I did well. I hope you enjoy it :)

Updated the game now that I've had time after the busy weekend. You can read about it on the game's page by following the Dev logs or just clicking this link here. Please don't hesitate to provide additional feedback :)

Boom, character sheets! Trying to make the game experience as good as possible for folks :)

Updated to Version 2.0! Despite how little these change may seem, the game feels totally different (for the better) now. Please enjoy!

The second half of the 2.0 update is live, that moves us from 2.0 to 2.1. It added EVEN MORE content and fixes. Check it out here.

Hmm, not sure whether I should post here or in one of the other 'Share your Project' threads. I'll run with both for now, and if anyone has a suggestion about what would be more appropriate, I'm happy to follow advice!

So far I've posted three micro-RPGs...

Freedom or Toaster: You play as a Robot trying to escape from a busy mall to freedom!

https://caradoc.itch.io/freedom-or-toaster

Brigands of Sherwood: Filch as much loot as possible before Robin Hood makes you give it all away!

https://caradoc.itch.io/brigands-of-sherwood

The Hoppy Pops: You're a Hoppy Pop, a character from one of those weird kid’s shows. In Ep. 9 your Happy Dance opened a gate to Hell!

https://caradoc.itch.io/the-hoppy-pops

All of these are designed to be an evening of fun. If anyone gets a chance to play them, an evening of laughs and general amusement is what I hope you get from them!

A Few Degrees of Warming is a hack of The Quiet Year by Avery Alder. It is a role playing  game about a familiar city radically altered by climate change. Narrate the the life of a coastal city as it struggles to overcome the many challenges presented by global warming. Work together to draw a map of the city and redraw it as it changes due to warmer and warmer temperatures.

Mnemonic: Cracks in the Mirror is an intimate, fantasy game about uncovering lost family memories through the exploration of places of personal significance. Each member of your group will tell their own story through a series of leading questions and prompts, and the story will culminate in a shared memory for the entire group. Safety mechanisms are included throughout to offer release from more perilous situations.

Intended for 1 to 4 players, no GM required.

Expected playtime: 2-4 hours.

🎃🦇 THE VISIGOTHS VS MALL GOTHS KICKSTARTER IS ALIIIIIIIIIIIIVE 🎃🦇

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/luciankahn/visigoths-vs-mall-goths

Visigoths vs. Mall Goths is a tabletop roleplaying game and dating sim about the conflicts and romances among the warriors who sacked ancient Rome and 20th century spooky teens, set in a shopping mall in a Los Angeles suburb in 1996. There are a lot of bisexuals.

Featuring:

  • illustrations by Robin Eisenberg (Thrasher, Vans) and Lluis Abadias Garcia (Dungeons & Dragons Retroverse)
  • layout by Vee Hendro (Good Society
  • maps by Olivia Fields and Jackson Tegu
  • adventure episodes by Liz Gorinsky (Goth Court), Mabel Harper, Jonaya Kemper, and runes expert Maja Bäckvall (Civilization VI, God of War)
  • stylistic editing and proofreading by Lauren McManamon (Girl Underground)
  • sensitivity editing by Jonaya Kemper

(For those following kickstarter's unionization efforts, I've been in communication with the union for the past couple weeks & my statement of support is here: https://necromancy.itch.io/open-letter-in-support-of-unionizing-kickstarter-workers)

MATR1X 0VERL0AD is a cyberpunk solitaire game based on Gridcannon by Tom Francis.

You’ll use a standard set of playing cards, jokers loaded, to lay out a grid representing the internet and surround it with royal cards that represent your targets. You’ll stack cards by order of their value on the grid, representing your efforts as a hacker to try to kill your targets, avoid ICE, and get out alive.

Our Pantheon

This is a hack of Dawn Of Worlds. In it, you play as gods creating a world. You draw the map and create all the civilizations. My hack largely seeks to modernize the rules and language of the original. However it also has an extra twist called the "Chaos Phase" that lets players explore the world and cultures they created from a more mortal perspective.

Our Pantheon also draws a lot of inspiration from PbtA games and stuff like Microscope.

Lines In The Sand a game of betraying values in the time of crisis.

Imagine a faction of freedom fighters. They are only one step from their biggest action, planned for months. It’s the only opportunity to bring awaited changes in your country. But today, they got the message. One of them has been caught by the secret police. Everybody knows what they are capable of. By now, the police surely know everything . What will happen?

Or imagine an election campaign staff. They’ve been working for months. Meetings, promises, alliances, social campaigns. The chances are low, and the time is running out. What can they do? Blackmail? Fabricated evidence against their opponent? Alliance with a radical military leader? They want a greater good for all the people in their country, right?

Lines In The Sand is a is a rules-light no-prep GM-less card game about staying faithful to values in the time of crisis. It is also a game about the consequences of betraying values. Is it true that morals can prevent us from doing what is right?

This is the story about dealing with crisis.  How much is the group willing to sacrifice to achieve a common goal? Is the group ready to make harsh choices to survive? Will they betray their own principles to do what is right? How will they behave? Will they overcome this and stay united?

October Rust is a game about the last stand. "A game of personal fall for the greater stand", as slogan says. Intended for 3-5 people, including one game master.

It's about one-shot heist in goal to try the answer the Final Question of the adventure, in attempt to fix the world or at least alter it. And the world is ungrateful, as early modern fantasy (with some grim and gothic themes) can be. Fallen characters in the world, which went down. Or at least, the protagonist are bastards, but the society is even worse...

October Rust also invokes the grim atmosphere of everlasting rain. And it can only go worse - the weather will escalate, the thunderstom will arrive.

It's done by improvising the adventure (answering five questions of Adventure List, then trying to play it's contents). Then, the game itself will force you to make hard choices about resources you'll spend: either you will need to sacrifice your precious belongings ("trappings"), deny your background or spent your rust points. The latter brings you closer to confessing your Sin from the past. If you don't spend those resources during conflict, you will roll some dice and add months to Doom Clocks (starting in May). When Doom Clock hits December, you perish!
