Games Suddenly Not Indexed anymore.

Hi everyone,
I changed the suggested donation prices from $2 to $4.99 a few days ago and now (today) I notice that 2 of our games are not listed at all and therefore have no views because no one can find them. Why is that?
Even when I log in and enter the full game name, the game does not appear in the search. (The upload date of the games is 2022 and 2023)

Thanks in advance and regards

Tom

There is a sticky thread on top of this section.

Hmm. Maybe the title of the sticky is not clear enough. game visibility problems can also mean problems within the game and with displaying graphics or readability, screen size and such. Or visibility on the whole internet.

But it means visibility on the site. Like being indexed.

I'm sorry, maybe I've mixed something up. I'm talking about the itch.io search function. Two of our games are not displayed in the search.

For search there can be yet another explanation. Unless it was exact title search. (Your games are not indexed, I checked before writing). Results are capped in number. Should be around 60 results.

Search was overhauled awhile ago. Previously you could search your exact profile name and see how many indexed projects you had. Now you can search your display name and your profile name, and the results will include your games, unless your name is a very common word in game titles.

That's what redonihunter is talking about. Please read this topic.

You know more of these threads than me. But I see certain patterns. One of those patterns is, that the people opening the threads very often do know the word indexing to be a key word for their problem. Exhibit A is this thread here.

Maybe sneak that index key word in the title of the sticky. You want to appear as result #2 in such a  search with that sticky, instead of a 2022 thread.

A visibility problem could also be taken for the situation where devs would like to see their games higher in popular ranking or on the front page. You use it in the literal sense - which also covers the case where a dev does not find a nsfw game in private browsing due to settings.

Oh well, I got it.
Thank you for your answers and apologies for the trouble.
Regards
Tom
