Yes, most bank cards should be fine. If in doubt, ask your bank if the card you have can be used for online payments.

It depends on the game. You cannot pay all games with credit card. And possibly some not with paypal. 

So if you can give money to paypal by other means, no you do not need a credit card. And stripe seems to accept some things too, that are not credit cards.
