Hello!

I am starting a series of non-competitive, casual game jams, just for people to practice their game development skills in a low-stress situation.  The first one begins this coming Monday.  Here is the link: https://itch.io/jam/practice-jam-1

I think one of the problems aspiring developers face, especially if they have been doing a bunch of tutorials, is that they never actually put what they've learned to use.  My goal is to help provide an opportunity to practice the skills that you've learned.  All skill levels are welcome.

It's ok if you don't finish your game, or even if you don't feel comfortable sharing your game with us here on Itch.io.  You can still follow along with the themes and work on a project on your own.  Although, at some point it is good to share and get feedback from others on your game.

Feel free to join in if you'd like!

Hello everyone!

We wrapped up our first practice jam, and now we have another one on the calendar for next week!

If you participated in our first one, thanks, first of all.  I encourage you to reflect on your experience, think about what worked, what didn't, and what you will/won't do for next time.  Also, if you're interested in this second jam, you can also use this week to brush up on some tutorials or features for your chosen tool, or maybe start learning about a new tool you can use for next time!
