Editor Tab:

1. -/+ Depth: [F1-F2]

2. -/+ ZScale: [F3-F4]

3. -/+ ZOffset (When Available): [F5-F6]

4. Layer Advance (Scroll through Front/Back/Unknown): [F7]

5. Pattern Advance (Scroll through Unknown/Char/Cube/etc.): [F8]

I suggest using "F" keys for these while the Editor tab is up if that's possible. I think it would be best to have single keystrokes for this to make editing the fastest.

That being said, controlling the 5 things above would account for F1-F8, leaving 4 more. Those 4 could then be used to control the other editing features as follows:

6. Forward 1 Frame: [F9]

7. Forward 3 Frames: [F10]

8. Navigate Sprites Backward: [F11]

9. Navigate Sprites Forward: [F12]

This would only leave Adjust and Delete, which I think are perfect as they are now with the CTRL + A/D setup.

If you set the emulator up to use the function keys like this, you could theoretically edit an entire screen very quickly without ever even using the mouse unless you were using Mass Sprite Selection.
