Project FOREVERREVERIE

You can always choose the easier path.

INTRODUCTION:

Hey all! I'm creating a new psychological horror game, with its working name as Project FOREVERREVERIE! ✿

(The only reason I have "project" in front of the name is in case I ever change my mind about the name lolll)

The game takes inspiration from games like Yume Nikki, Undertale, and OMORI, and will have visual novel, ARPG, and puzzle elements.

The game takes you through a surreal environment, slowly unveiling the narrative through the characters you meet and the clues you pick up along the way.

ABOUT + LINKS

I started this project a couple weeks ago, and I plan to release the demo by early-to-mid April! Here is its ITCH.IO page, where I will also be posting updates to its devlog page every once in a while:

I will also be posting regular screenshots and sneak peeks on my Twitter if you're interested!

MY PROGRESS SO FAR:

As of writing this very first post I'm around 7% finished with the project. Here are some screenshots:

^^ This is SOMEWHERE. This is where the game starts. Notice that television? That's going to be your main way of getting around.

^^ THE YELLOW ROOM. Will be an important plot point later on, but I'm currently using it to test the interactions :)

Thanks for reading :D I will try to update this page every few days or so!

PROGRESS ON THE INVENTORY (+ how the game looks and feels thus far!)

Hi everyone - lately I've been focused on the UI aspects of the game and making them look good (I know, I should probably be focusing on the code under the hood, but I get especially motivated if the thing I'm making looks at least acceptable :P), and this is the product of a few days' work! And since this is the first devlog I'm posting on this site, treat this also as a showing-off of how the game looks and feels so far.

I've posted a devlog to the itch.io page too, but no need to look at it, it's me saying essentially the exact same things I said here but reworded a little :)

Contrary to previous plans, I have decided to not start working on the world that would eventually become the destination of the pink memory card, but instead on a grey neighborhood, because in the story that I drew up, this little place is more crucial.

I've also added a little equip mechanic!

She's now holding a cutter :D

Alright, that's all, sorry for the low post-frequency, be back in a few days with more progress! <3

her sprite reminds me of a different game... a point and click adventure, something related to psychologists
