I designed this romhack 20 years ago when I was just getting my feet wet designing games for the Atari 2600. Unfortunately my life would take a wildly different course so this tech demo was the only thing I wound up officially releasing for the console.

I've since gotten back on the horse and I'm slowly re-learning how to program for the 2600 and I hope to share more games here in the future. In the meantime you can explore this once lost oddity. The BIN game image is hosted on this page and it is playable in any Atari 2600 emulator such as Stella. Likewise you can also load this ROM image onto any compatible flashcart to play it on real hardware. Certain newer consoles such as the Hyperkin Retron 77 and Atari 2600+ support the sideloading of game ROMs via a memory card so this is also an option for playing this game.

In the near future I have plans to commemorate this (and my future) games with collectible Game Cards. These will be very affordable trading cards featuring artwork from the games as well as being individually numbered for collectability. As the precursor to all the other games I want to make Pineapple 2000 will be card #00. Follow the page to be notified when cards are made available!
