i used to play this game that had a jar and you could customize your terrarium. i'm 80% sure it was pixelized as well. it was also similar to tamogatchi in the way it had a little creature you could grow, and there was an option for a small cat.

i know that you had options to drop food, clean the jar/tank, restart, change the contents, etc.
