Site-wide yearly statistic report

I'm a new entrepreneur, and to protect my livelihood, I'd be really interested to know the market for my games. It'd be really nice to see some kind of "yearly-downloads-per-tag" statistic, to get some expectation of potential earnings.

I did some searching, but came up empty.  Does itch.io publish such reports? If not, would it be possible?

Similar questions have been asked before.

The response has been that for privacy reasons, Itch is not going to publish this type of information (personally I don't know of any store that does).

In the general channel there is a post where people who wish can publish their download and earnings data. But it is more of a curiosity than something statistically significant because very few people do it.

You realize those reports would be quite useless? Like, in several ways. It might be a nice statistic to look at in awe, but useless.

Also, tags are dev chosen on itch. So it says little, just because a dev chose to tag horror as an example. Resident Evil series is horror. But those do sell big time; does not mean any horror sells big time, or that any horror you would make would sell because of shared tag. There is a bottom of the list, too, if you sort by tag. And especially if something is popular, the 50% that are the lower half gets also bigger.

You might get some inspiration here:

I do not know how much time is included in that view or how it is weighted. But there is a 30 day button. So while you might not get a rating in numbers, you might see (or not see) a trend in certain tags. Or a common theme, or something all those games on top have in common. I failed to notice anything beyond the obvious: it is all indie games. And "horror" is popular.
