Void Wizard - Feedback

Hey, great work on the game! It's really fun so far and think it has a lot of potential for future development!!

Here's my feedback from my one play-through (I did die to a wizard and didn't reach the end though lol):

  • The controls screen from the main menu had some visual issues, the paper-background img didn't stretch to fit all the text and some of the controls ran off the screen (screenshot below)

  • Movement felt kind of slippery and fast
  • I didn't find the changeable options in the pause menu until after I had died, it would've been nice to have those on the main menu to alter before I started
  • It would nice to have a toggle on/off next to the option sliders to make it faster to turn off certain features if you don't want them at all
  • I'm sensitive to flashing so it was nice that there's a feature to remove screen shake, it would be nice to have something to tone down/remove the flashing effect from getting hit/hitting enemies with attacks as well for an accessibility option
  • The glass breaking-type sound that plays when you cast an attack got a little grating since I was constantly casting
  • For the room with stairs, it would be nice if the player automatically climbed when walking forward in a smooth way, similar to how stairs work in Minecraft vs having to manually jump each incline
  • May be on purpose, but my character felt really smol compared to the enemies. I was expecting to be as tall as the other wizards but felt like my line of sight was at their shoulder
  • I ended up dying to a wizard attack because I was down to 5 health, I would've liked to have more health regen/health item drops because I was more focused on playing fast than watching my health.
  • On the intro sequence with the red text, there's a whooshing sound effect. I noticed it doesn't loop after a while and cuts off since I was tabbed out writing feedback
  • I noticed there was no way to quit out mid-session. I had to walk into enemies to get back to the main menu to quit (lol)
  • I really liked the music/sound effect mixing! Everything sounded really good and fit with the ambiance
  • The graphics/models were really nice, everything felt very visually cohesive
  • Rat playing piano was the highlight of the game for me lol
  • I really liked zooming and zapping the bad lads! I was disappointed I died and didn't get the ending, I might come back later for another session, will add more feedback if I do :^)

Super great work!! This is really impressive for a solo project, I hope to see more updates for it.
