Soul Ascension: feedback

Hello!

I'm seeking feedback on my game "Soul Ascension" (a clicker/idle game) created in 6 days during the "Godot Wild Jam". I've compiled an initial list of improvements and bugs reported by participants in the Jam, but I would like to make it more comprehensive and even determine which points are the most critical to address first. On the game page, you will find the description of the game that explains what the game is about and how to play it.

What areas would you like to see improved in my game with priority?

Thank you for your interest and feedback.

Hey, I like your game! And I appreciate your organized approach to this thread btw :)

My favorite part of this is probably the satisfaction of playing it in general. I get that it's supposed to be exhilarating, but to me it's actually kind of relaxing... Just something to mindlessly do when you're bored. The mechanics and graphics run very smoothly, I actually am curious about how to get things to be so fluid and pleasing to the eye. The upgrades are cool and efficient, music is fire, everything works well.

The only thing I would say to improve is maybe the engagement with the player. It's a fun game, but I think it can get a bit boring at times even with the upgrades. Maybe add a bit of a story (I can help with that if you'd like), or maybe a difficulty progression that feels even more rewarding than the upgrades? Idk just throwing stuff out there

Feel free to check my game out, I could use your feedback: https://wasabiiii.itch.io/grass-elemental-demo-demo

Something about this is just really nice to look at, with the smoothness of the movement and sprite animations. I hope to one day be able to achieve that with my work!

Thanks for commenting. I have a story in mind for the game, and I'll be happy to ask for your advice when I implement it. I'm going to try your game, which looks very ambitious at first glance!

Great choice to add some narrative, I'm always happy to help!

And thank you so much for playing Grass Elemental, I'm very glad you enjoyed it! Your comment made my day :)

Hi there, I played your game and overall I really enjoyed it. Found it quite addictive actually, I managed to max out the blue red and purple souls but felt the numbers to get the others was quite high. Not quite sure what the gold one did?? I liked the art and felt there was a good contrast between the colours. Music was cool but felt it got slightly repetitive after awhile. It's clear it is well made, I experienced hardly any technical issues but later on as more and more stuff was on the screen there was some slight lag but not enough to impact the experience, the control of the cloud was smooth too.  Reading the other comments, the addition of a story could be interesting especially if you lean into the Souls/death aspect of it. Will keep an eye on it as interested to see what additions you make.

If you have time to check out my game that would be cool, it's more of a story game so will be interested in any feedback https://pehriska.itch.io/sapphire-city-part-2

Great job again, I left a rating on the game too. :)
