[ANSWERED] How could I use that product for converting .dcv for example?

Hello!

I was “asleep” for a long time, so I didn’t know about the closure of R18.com.

I only have a collection of dcv files downloaded from there. I used to watch the videos using "R Player V2" (2.1.18)... but now I get an error when I try to watch it (could not play content, error code: 00003-00002-00002-DL). I think I won't be a genius if I assume that this issue is related to the closure of R18.com))

I didn’t fully understand the functionality (but I already bought it, brilliant :)) and decided to see what the program does in practice.

I tried to use your program that way: put dcv in a folder named "vid" (this folder is in the same directory with jav-it)

jav-it.exe catalog -d vid

And log:

2023/09/19 22:29:17 [WARN] No subtitle defintions file was found! Subtitles will not be included in catalog searches.

2023/09/19 22:29:17 [INFO] Now processing all videos in the directory 'F:\ARIGATO\raspak\vid'...

2023/09/19 22:29:17 [ OK ] Processing complete! Your JAV videos are now cataloged and organized!

I don't see any changes at all.

Maybe I didn’t fully understand all about your product, but I assumed that it could help me. Maybe it (or Patreon version) can convert .dcv in other format, for example? If not - then how your product could help in my situation?

I apologize for the possible stupidity and the “thousand-times-asked” question)

You cannot convert  *.dcv files, since the encryption keys are long gone. You needed to backup your library before R18 closed. However, if your titles are still available on DMM, you can use the Patreon version to place-shift those titles if you re-purchase them again, or have a subscription.

i have the same problem.  I downloaded several videos from R18 before they shut down (the filenames extensions however are .wsdcf and can only be played via the R18 software which is now not working).  I tried using this javit tool and the instructions provided but KODI can't find the files even when I had a successful cataloging.  i feel like there wasn't enough clear info or disclaimer info in the instructions to say that if you downloaded the files already before R18 shut down, then you can't use this tool anymore to bypass the DRM of those files.
