I have an Amiga 500 Mini and have played the Turrican II AGA version with a joystick on it five or six times. As of today, the Competition Pro joystick and the original gamepad no longer works in the game. The connected joystick still works when I am in the main menu of the A500 Mini or e.g. in another game (Alien Breed). A USB keyboard works in Turrican II on the corresponding USB port.
Unfortunately I can't explain this. I just bought my A500 Mini ~ a month ago. Updated the firmware of the A500 Mini and want to play version 1.20 of Turrican II.

I have also already reset the A500 Mini to factory settings, unfortunately without success.

Does anyone have an idea?

When you say it doesn't work, are you saying it completely stopped working, or just partially works?

Have you checked the control settings in the game to ensure you haven't set it to use keyboard or something?

the control settings are already set correctly. It doesn't matter what I select whether joystick (auto), CD32 gamepad or joystick (customized). I played with the joystick (customized) setting. As soon as I start the game, the Competition Joystick does not react anymore (except the Home button & Menu button).

I also have a second "THE C64" joystick this one doesn't react when I start the game either, even if I connect it to the USB port where the USB keyboard is actually connected.  

When I go back to the main menu by pressing the "Home" button, the joystick reacts again. WTF?

The game starts otherwise without any problems. Only the keyboard reacts, when I start the game and Turrican is in level 1-1 (Desert Rocks), the character cannot be controlled. The game time runs down, however, and the game can be paused via keyboard with "P".

Unfortunately, I can't say more about this. What I don't understand is that this problem occurred overnight. I did not change anything before the problem occurred, in any configuration or other settings. Turrican II AGA with the support of the A500 Mini has been the main reason for me to buy the A500 Mini in the first place.

PS. I have now also tried with a new game, so that my old savegame was overwritten. Unfortunately, that didn't help either.

i can give the all-clear. I have downloaded the game again, and replaced the two files Turrican2AGA.lha and Turrican2AGA_ol.uae on my USB stick. Since then the game runs again with my THEC64 joystick.

I'm sorry that I'm just getting back to you now, but I love the game and had played it (for testing) right back to level 3-2. :-)

I will play Turrican II AGA more often now in the next days and report again if the issue occurs again.
