BIGA Arcade, in collaboration with Game Developer Studio & Kronnect, presents its first ever Game Jam! We invite game developers to compete and showcase their skills in an exciting five-day event starting on 30th August, 2pm UTC and ending on 3rd September, 2pm UTC.

The grand prize is $3000, with your game featured in our arcade earning ongoing royalties! Runner-ups will receive $1250 and $500 respectively, with a special $250 prize for a "Hidden Gem".

BIGA Arcade is a pioneering platform in the realm of web-based digital arcades, connecting gamers and developers like never before. We aspire to foster a dynamic ecosystem where passionate gamers can turn their enthusiasm into income, while developers get unprecedented opportunities to showcase their work and earn royalties.

To participate, create a web-browser playable game, deployable to WebGL and under 200MB in size, using at least one asset from Game Developer Studio. Games should include a user-friendly menu, configurable controller settings, and audio for an immersive gaming experience.

Specific game development parameters will be announced 24hrs before the start of the event on our Twitter and Discord. We advise all contestants to follow us on these platforms to stay informed.

The contest encourages both individual participants and teams. Once your game is ready, submit it privately to itch.io and share the link with us. Our expert panel, including BIGA and Game Developer Studio representatives, will judge the games based on various criteria such as gameplay, design, fun factor, storyline, and more. Winners will be announced within 30 days post-event.

Remember, your game remains yours; we respect your ownership rights. Enhance your chances of winning by sharing your game development journey on social media with the hashtags #bigaarcade #gamejam.

We can't wait to see your creations. Good luck and happy jamming!

What do you think guys ? The video presentation seems to me very vague. That's look like a pyramid scheme with some cryptosh*t, the jam gives me the impression that he doesn't not care at all about video games. Zero infos on the discord and 7 subs on Youtube. The jam just feels like devs bait to me. I don't believe in the cash price at all and the guy does not give an answer when asked where the money comes from. I suppose this is not a fair jam, but I can make a mistake.

You are very wrong here.

What money?

If you mean competition money it comes from our pockets.

If referring to the arcade this has been answered several times before and it's an arcade model. But instead of all profit's going to the business, it's shared with the gamers and also game creators.

Jump into the discord and have a chat with the team and others ;)

(1 edit)

Thank you for your reply, I was on the discord and I found some answers there. But please  I have more questions : So the cryptomoney is divided into three parts between the developer, the player, and Biga. What's the exact slice of the cake? What's the token value for a game session? And lastly, when a  game's score has reached the limit and revenues decrease until they become nonexistent, the game will be reset or will new games come in to replace it ?                                                                                                                                                                            Sorry they are basics wondering but in my opinion, the high score will be beaten so quickly that no one will earn anything except for the last person (like an exponential curve)  who will get his share for a while and then nothing. It doesn't seem viable to me because it's not like a slot machine; the skill of the players is not random.  I believe it's even less ethical to make a player believe they can beat a score than a casino and I also hate casino. Thank you for reading I won't bother you anymore. Good luck with the jam and your business.

No thats fine for the detailed question

Gamers always gets 50% and the other 50% depends on the setup and if it's a third party or in-house game.

There is level capture games where people compete for the levels and leaderboard games which are designed as endless runs. Will be more scoring models in future to suit more game types.

Price depends of games and levels but most will start at $0.10 per play
