I can go into more depth, but it requires a fair amount of modeling knowledge to make a placeable that uses the extended colors.
This mod is meant to provide features that other modders will be using in upcoming releases. For everyone else, no setup required. All you have to do is have this in your mods folder and the new placeables with multicolor sections will work.
