Bots advertising porn scam links in comments

Heya,

for a few days now, we're getting spam comments under our game Third Crisis. Here's a screenshot of what the comment looks like usually:

I keep Reporting, banning and deleting them, but in the last 24 hours, we've received 5 of them. It's starting to get difficult to keep up with deleting them.

From some super basic research, it seems that all adult games that pop up in comment sections in this tag https://itch.io/games/tag-adult share the same problem.

The picture that loaded leads to this domain: https://who.is/whois/ppmm.su so it looks super sus. If an admin wants the exact link, I can DM it to you, I just don't want to post it here so nobody accidentally clicks it or something.

The 2 img's below that didn't are from the link shortener t.ly. I don't know how to find out where it leads without actually opening the hidden url.

Is there anything that can be done against this bot besides every adult game manually deleting them?
Hope something can be done and thank you very much!

Just wanted to share that we’re aware of these spammers. We’ll be keeping a closer watch on our own internal review queues for spam until we can roll out a change that will block these types of posts entirely.

Unfortunately, when running a platform that allows anyone to post, you often have a back-and-forth with spammers and scammers are they attempt to circumvent existing systems. Patience is appreciated as we clean these posts up. Please continue to use the report tool and select “Spam” to notify our team of the posts.

Reporting can be done before deleting it, and a copy will be stored alongside the report.

Thanks

Thank you very much! Merry Christmas :)

Thank you! Merry Christmas :)

Aye Aye. Reporting them on sight.

The issue seems fixed. We have not had this type of spam for multiple days now. Thank you very much!

I've been getting a lot of these too.

While the bots seem to be primarily targeting NSFW games, they are also posting these on other games.

We've been getting these on our family-friendly game. This is a huge issue for us. Our only recourse at this point seems to be to disable our comment section entirely.

Ideally we would like an option to hold all comments for manual review before being publicly displayed on our page. I would much rather legitimate comments be held in review for a few hours, than for explicit sexual content to stay on our page for a few hours.

I’ve been having the same issue for the past 3 days as well.

Yup, me too

Looks like they are going for top games now. I've been reporting/blocking them.

here a NSFW dev... and I don't approve of such practices!

Same situation happening here, I need to check every few hours to ban these bots. I always get a few of these comments a day, I'm afraid it might turn off some players as they may think we don't look after bots or don't care.

Happening to me too, on a family-friendly Commodore 64 game that raises money for a children's heart charity. The ability to ban an account from commenting on all games would be a start, at the moment they just move on to posting on a different one.

I saw some on the fnf comments💀

Even though the game is rated teens, that's cursed💀

Me too

 I can't report them.

The bot issue mentioned in the original post is pretty much resolved by now. Can you share a link to the post you’re referring to?

I found a username. I don't know if it is a bot, but when I clicked on the username url, there was a porn ad in it.

username link :-https://ferderr.itch.io/

Thanks for reply soon

Admin(+1)

How did you find that username?

 Because He was followed me.

Just had this one pop up. These have been much less frequent, once every other day if I had to guess. They might be more manual labor for the scammer.

Admin(+1)

Yup, it’s a different scammer, will be working on changes for them as well. Thanks for the report

That specific scam seems to be ramping up, I've had 3 in the last 24 hours on our game.

BRO THEIR BACK😭😭😭😭😭

nvm their gone
