Bug 1 : Cannot store or replace items if slot is already taken. Cannot unequip/remove current items.
Bug 2: When selecting an initial upgrade, you cannot change your choice afterwards.

I cant reproduce these bugs, can you explain where and what you have tried. Can you explain more in depth what you did and what you expected to happen?
Bug 1: In the Character sheet, do you mean that the item do not show at all? You change equipped items you first need to unequip by pressing what you want to take off and then press the item you want to add. Will make this more intuitive in the future.
Bug 2: Do you mean the X button on top right does not work?
To unequip weapon you have to press triangle on the right side of the screen, then inventory opens and you have to click on an item you want to unequip. You cannot do this during the combat though. I also play in browser, and it works... If an item doesn't even appear in your inventory, then it's really a bug.
I guess second is intended. You take a chance and choose from what you get.
