Help with finding a few phrases

Hi there!  I really like this game.  It has such a cool vibe and the underlying story and atmosphere are really intriguing.  It reminds me of something Roger Zelazny would write, it would make a great book.  I'd love to read it.  I'm finding solving the puzzle aspect to be really difficult, and could use some help finding the remaining phrases.  I've found the fire, water, and air phrases so far.  It's possible that I've found one of the other ones and didn't recognize it was a phrase.  I've looked through the other posts on here, read the clues on the fridge many times, and also spent a lot of hours searching every area I know of in the game, but have been unable to find these.  I've also kept a log of all the tuner locations and have visited all of the ones I've found.  Even knowing what area to search would be really helpful.  Based on the fridge clues, my best guesses are the light one would be located in the large maze underneath one of the houses in the town, and the shadow one sounds like it could be in the cave type area before the desert.  I have looked in both these places many times and not found anything, though.  The closest thing I could find to the triplets was in the mansion and the blue/underwater type area, but it didn't exactly match, so I'm unsure of that one.  I look forward to being to finish the game and story at some point.  It's not perfect, but there are so many good things about it this game, I love it, and definitely hope you make another game sometime.  If you need playtesters, I'd be happy to volunteer.  I'd also be interested in potentially contributing some music.  Is there a way to contact you?

Hi,

Thanks so much for the kind words! Best way to contact me is either through here or twitter, but you can also try my email (person@alekssamoylov.com) - it's just so full of spam at this point that I don't really check it as often.

I will be the first to admit that I made that puzzle way too obscure. Though I suppose it is meant to be a sort of long term mystery, I think I sort of designed for myself more than for prospective players. Can't really promise I won't do something similar in future games (it might be like Miyazaki and poison swamps ... a part of me just can't resist), but I've definitely learned a lot from the feedback I got on this aspect of the game.

Anyways, I will tell you that you are very close when it comes to the Light and Shadow phrases. In both cases, you have the correct region, and in the latter case, you have the correct location (it is, indeed, somewhere in the cave). When it comes to the Light phrase, the precise location of the phrase is most directly pinpointed by the verse "you called for help, it came out wrong."   I do recognize that if one doesn't live in the US, the phrase may or may not be interpreted the same, but I ended up including it as a Twin Peaks: The Return reference.  The way you reveal the Shadow and Light phrases is a bit different than some of the others (they require an extra step), but once you figure out how to reveal one, it will point you towards the method of revealing the other, as the two are analogous.

As for the earth phrase, it describes a location in the "Alternate Desert" region (the empty, dark, nighttime version of the desert). It may require a bit of running around, but it should be in or near a spot that presents itself as a somewhat obvious "point of interest."

Thanks!  I'll give it another shot with these tips and see if I can figure it out before I ask for any more help.  I may have found the Earth phrase already if it's the area I'm thinking of.  My first thought with "you called for help, it came out wrong," was at the mansion where the younger version of Diane says "you won't help, will you?"  I didn't think that was it, but it kinda fits.  I do live in the U.S. but I haven't seen that show.  I looked it up and I think I found the episode you're talking about.  I'll try and find a way to watch it and see if I can figure it out.  Thanks! FYI, I sent you an email as well, hopefully it makes it through the spam
