I've done a few runs now, and I always struggle with getting gold, and getting food.

When I work as a top, I get paid 0 gold. So what is the point of working as a top?

I tried working as a bottom, but ended up becoming "addicted to it" and don't get gold anymore.

Monsters never drop gold, and rarely drop food. usually

I usually have to end up going starving, until i will forage for food because i've run out.

Then eventually you end up just losing after you've starved too many times.

I can't find the "Forage" button.

I have the forager skill, but haven't seen a way to actually forage without just running out of food.

Please help.

There are many ways to get rich which are listed in wiki's in Walkthrough section specifically. Each run I use most of them as soon as I can.

First one is the Brothel Madame first quest that earns you 200 gold no prob. On the way to finish it you will encounter Ogre, which you better defeat to get 50 gold. If you're wearing any boots, you can also enter Ruins and scavenge there for money with Perception 5. Without boots you're gonna get screwed.

There's a quest of defeating Quetzal, which you can check with the link. It includes travelling to the end of first map and buying specific stuff, then returning all the way back, but it gives you 300 gold + stamina regeneration charm.

You can also travel further to Verdant Valley and find there 100 gold + gauntlet of Strength.

As you see, you can earn significant cache on your way, and after you buy all the armor you need and a weapon, you can buy yourself any number of food you may need, 600 for example.

Thank you for this. Where do you buy the food specifically? Because every shop I find, only has the meat, and it gives like 2 fullness.

You need to stay in a inn in any if two towns. It costs 10GP, replenishes all health and gives you around 40 food I believe

Where should suggestions be directed? A foraging mechanic would be nice. I'm struggling with food too. It seems like every 5 spaces I move, I starve to death or get raped and left 2 food only to starve again before I can do anything about it

There's a foraging mechanic, the probability of getting lucky and getting more food is raised by learning the forager perk.

But it's not necessary, as you can just buy the required amount of food in any inn. It costs 10GP, so it's affordable.

You may also need some money, and it's not hard to earn them, for example you can get around 250 by doing odd jobs for Brothel or 300 by defeating Quetzal. See more on Tales of Androgyny wiki
