Hi,

I'm the author of the Lost Solace series of books. I also love creating art, book covers, 3d renders and so on related to my books. I'm a big fan of Itch (and am contemplating ways in which I could create licences so people on Itch could make and sell games based on my work - maybe a game jam?). Just discovered this forum, so thought I'd post a few images!

This was the base design for a new cover version of the first Lost Solace book which I created last week:

I've tried various styles in the past. Yes, I like the colour blue! :

This was one of my earliest test images:

The main series characters, Opal and the super AI, Athene:

An AI specialist called Helene Vermalle:

Just to show I don't only do the female characters! This is General Grubane, with Q-code facial tattoos:

I include this just because I still play C64 and Spectrum games. I love certain bright colours on a black background, so created this dithered version:

Thanks for looking at the images! :-)

PS If you wonder about the series, here's a brief description:

--

"Although I write in many genres, my Lost Solace books are the big hitters. People love them, often developing a personal connection to the universe I have created, and the characters within it.

Interaction with fans, and reading their reviews, often reveals clues about what they value. Some praise the powerful female characters. Other readers revel in the concepts, such as space ships that disappear and return many years later, the crew missing, the ships changed and malevolent. Readers talk about the emotions they feel: hope and fear, anger and humour, tension and awe.

Personally, I love the way I can combine feelings and techniques from other genres I write in. A dash of space opera, a sprinkling dystopia, an arc of character growth, a pinch of horror. It’s satisfying to me as an author to be able to craft twisting stories for characters I call my friends.

The main series follows Opal’s quest to find her missing sister and escape from the dystopian militaristic culture that controlled her life. It’s also about her changing relationship with the AI spacecraft which calls itself Athene."

You can find out more about them on my Indiegogo page I set up.
