Teaser trailer:

Hey there itch.io community! I’ve been working on this game on nights and weekends for quite a while now. I thought it would be exciting to take a classic, well-established gameplay concept, such as the “space shooter”, and find a way to adapt it to VR effectively. In doing so, I came up with the essence of Parabolic: a space shooter with 2D gameplay that _visually_ takes place in a warped, 3D plane.

I’m a strong believer that games designed this way will be one of the strongest proponents of VR’s growth. That is, games that are built from the ground up for VR, but do not _require_ it. As such, you can play Parabolic in VR with motion controls, or you can play it on your monitor - it’s your choice!

The game currently supports both third-person and first-person play on flat screens, and first-person play with motion controls in VR. You can also play local co-op with a friend. High scores are recorded using DreamLo, and can be viewed here: http://dreamlo.com/lb/590bfd934389dd024c854c4e/pipe

A demo is available at https://nanospork.itch.io/parabolic for both flat screens and VR, but if you aren’t able to try it out, I’d really appreciate any feedback on the teaser trailer above. Specifically, I’m looking for suggestions of where to focus for graphics and polish, but any and all other feedback is welcome!
