Will Minohotel get better?

I have only reached chapter 6, Luke's chapter was just so boring. And, overall, that's what I'm feeling with this VN, I'm feeling so bored and drained, taking multiple breaks while reading or flat out falling asleep.

I really think the writing gets pretty repetitive at times, telling the same info four times in the same chapter, sometimes three times in the same scene. There is little to no room to interpretation, explaining every single thing, not so much showing the characters, the first chapter are over extended monologues, the MC is soulless, a big lack of visual storytelling, and so on... I'm just tired.

From writers who think they are so good they literally shoving their writing pamphlets to every aspiring vn creator they could possibly find I expected something more, to say the very least.

Will it get  better later on or do people just have really bad taste and I should stop now?

You already posted this on Reddit and got some good answers

Hi. I'm sorry you're not having fun with the game.

The story is meant to be a slow burn romance, and we really take our time establishing things. So I can see and recognize the aspects of the writing that are making it unenjoyable for you. I also know I have a tendency towards purple prose, which we cut a lot during editing but some of it slips through. Later down the road (when the game is done, I reckon) I'll go over the entire thing to tighten up some parts and cut on the excess.

Still, the game is meant for people who prefer a slower story. A lot of people do like what we are offering. However, from my experience, if someone is having such a bad time during the start I don't think the experience will get better for you. It seems like what we are offering just isn't up your alley, which is perfectly fine. You would probably have a better time playing other games.

It is a bit more descriptive at the start of the game, they are trying to establish what the hotel's realm is like and how it works. It gets more character driven around chapter 10 and it picks up characters from there.

Mino hotel changed from average to top VNs by hinterlands 3 to me, then chapter 16 hit really hard. It does start slow yes, but it should build up to it.

yeah the MC is pretty much is soul less at the following chapters thats why they cover it up by offering you a class( profession) to give better taste of the MC on the start of the game to give him a more flavored text more( pls dont pick speedrunner) even if its just some few sentences and few perks to give heighten advantage. Aside from  that the story gets a bit long due to the explanation of the narrator tending to focus on many aspects on prioritizing either on setting> characters> POV > setting again. One way to combat it is really to skim it if you notice it in time.

Some stories aren't everyone's cup of tea, and that's fine!

Personally I really enjoyed the slow, lore based, more realistic approach to romance this VN takes. It doesn't just go 'oh and now you've got a full blown romance with sex' in two chapters. But if that's what you're expecting, this might not be for you.

Again not all stories are for everyone, and if you don't like it that's absolutely fine! But please don't put down and belittle the Developers and the fans by saying things like "From writers who think they are so good they literally shoving their writing pamphlets to every aspiring vn creator they could possibly find I expected something more, to say the very least". That's not helpful, and that's not constructive criticism. It just seems like you're actively trying to create drama by stirring the pot.

I'd suggest you try giving the VN another go, and if you don't enjoy just leave it be and walk away.

Edit: Looking at some of your other posts and comments on Itch.io... It seems like you generally only have negative things to say, no matter the topic... I was giving you the benefit of the doubt earlier, but I'm more and more convinced you're just here to stir up the shit.

Please don't.

Hello there, guys. BigBaraLover, I had just finished my first playthrough of Minotaur Hotel. When I reached chapter 6 I did a post in Reddit asking people why do they enjoy this game so much because I was not having a good time at all.

Now, while checking this forum, recommended by the credits of the game, I found this post, a copy of my first impression of the first 5 chapters.

"I have only reached chapter 6, Luke's chapter was just so boring. And, overall, that's what I'm feeling with this VN, I'm feeling so bored and drained, taking multiple breaks while reading or flat out falling asleep.

This was actually taken from This Blog in reddit. However

"From writers who think they are so good they literally shoving their writing pamphlets to every aspiring vn creator they could possibly find I expected something more, to say the very least.
Will it get  better later on or do people just have really bad taste and I should stop now? "

This was not part of my post, this was entirely created by this user. This is a behavior I do not support. I am against harassing other people for their taste. people shouldn't be shamed for what they like.

edit: this is my first time making a post in itchio, and now I'm actually afraid I've been personaficated by someone else

Hello Stallock!

Thank you for giving the game a chance, for taking the time to write your thoughts and for coming over here to clear up this situation. It's very kind of you, and definitely appreciated.

I knew I was right when I thought that the original poster on this thread was just trying to stir up shit 馃檮

There's nothing wrong with not enjoying this game (or any game for that matter, it's all about personal taste) but there's no reason for them to have

     1) Plagiarized your opinion and review

     2) Been a dick about it
