Hello I am smokedplant (a plants vs zombies fan) or MythicalX. I have 15.7k posts, 405, topics, 121 followers (because of the fnf post I made which has been deleted by me), and I'm following 1 person which is Mochi.
In nearly five years of itchio and three games: 63,537 pageviews, 13,761 browser plays, 6,760 downloads and a somewhat miserly $19.99 in donations! Not that I aren't grateful for them, of course. Hopefully, we've learnt and improved enough to put out a commercial game next and make a success of it.
Away from the stats, it's been great to see the comments of people who've enjoyed the games, and videos of people who've played them on Youtube and Twitch- and itchio's been good for getting to know new people and making friends with people from very different backgrounds.
We're also on 199 followers so, if anyone wants to push us up to 200, I'll be very happy XD
Here are my measly stats:
I've been here for about 1.5 years, and have 6 games up by now (all free, half of them playable in browser).
Total views: 611. Downloads: 107. Browser plays: 185. Collections: 4. Payments: 0.
That's pretty low considering the effort put into some of these games, but I'm hardly doing any "marketing", because I hate it. If I post a link somewhere, I get a couple dozen of plays, but after a few days that dies out. My current best (and most fun!) strategy to get my games played is to make browser games for game jams. :-)
For all projects . . .

I've been on Itch for about 2 years and have two games -- Wallet Warrior for a Game Jam and Scrapship which is still in development.
My Scrapship devlog has 7,501 views, which I find very promising once I get the game finished.

Not bad for my first game, Grizzly Grove, a NSFW HTML game launched on April 6th, 2022. Well, it's not so new, I've been working on its development since November 2020, and many people helped to improve it on its development (both on discord and F95Zone). I want to thank to anyone who donated me, it means so much that people donate to a free game like mine. And I have planned lots, lots of updates for this game. I'm amazed how well has been received my game on this community, I love you guys <3

I've been on here 2 months just over 800 views. 83 downloads and made $33. I've done a lot of advertising though. A lot of retro gaming forums is where my views come from. My games have been DOS games and retro unity games. I'm talking unity 2.6! From 2007. Plus I've made some soundtracks aswell and marketed them as table top RPG atmospheric tracks. So I've had a lot of D&D players download. It's all FREE to or pay what you want! Trying to make niche games has definitely helped.
I'll edit I'm actually using old hardware aswell a 2009 macbook and a 2004 g4 powerbook. Even used Mac os9 for my soundtracks. Not flexing here but I'll note the Powerbook cost me 10 bucks at a garage sale!
3 years here and only 1 game/visual novel released, the demo was out for 2 years and the comlete version came out recently: 2,164 views, 199 downloads, 3 ratings, 126 collections, 6 comments, 29 followers. 0 dollars because it is free and no donations were required.
It is probably low, but I am still happy and overjoyed people played the game :D
This is an interesting topic!
Gives some good insight into how different types of games work on itch.
It seems like browser playable is the way to go for views, but not so much for donations.
Anyway here is my stats.
Iv'e been on Itch for about 2 years

Here is my profile
On itch.io.
It worked for me.
Try to post frequently on the community. Like first I only had 2 followers and few downloads and browser plays on my games which were mostly me playing my own game.
Now since I started posting here, I have 15 followers and better analytics( but not that good ).
I also created a YouTube channel but that didn't help at all.
