Hey! Are you a creator from Ukraine? Do you know someone who is? If so, please drop your/their games and projects in this thread!

Everyone wants to help out right now. The massive charity bundle is going to be incredible, but it’s still a few days until it drops. I’m hoping that by creating a list of Ukrainian developers to support, we can not only help sooner, but we can also help out the individuals within the itch community who are affected by this.

I’ve been trying to find a thread like this on here, but I don’t think there is one, so this’ll have to do. I’m just some guy from America, I don’t want to overstep, and I don’t pretend to know what Ukrainians are going through, but I sincerely hope this can do any good at all.

If you find any games below that you’re able to support, please do.

To start: Andriy Bychkovskyi is a developer from Ukraine who has made some great games such as Farlanders, a “Mars colony city builder,” and Undervault, a “Roguelike in which you are the architect of the dungeon.” Go get ‘em, and tip well.

Please add on to this thread with more developers from Ukraine!

(Note to moderators: I decided to post this in the General Discussion forum rather than the Recommend a Game forum. The reason is that there’s a rule stating not to promote your own game in that forum, and I want any Ukrainian developers to be able to share their own work in this thread. If this was an error, please do move this thread to a more appropriate location. Thank you.)

I don’t see any problem with this. Even if a thread is a gray area when it comes to the rules, it’s always worth making an exception for a topic that will help the community, at least in my opinion :)

As far as I know, he's not on itch.io, but check out Sergey Mohov's page

http://sergeymohov.com/

(by the way, he wrote a great article on his path to the game industry https://www.gamedeveloper.com/design/breaking-into-the-industry-full-story-of-on... )

and his twitter profile has info on how to help

Oleksandr Kaleniuk is another I used to follow on social media (back when I was on social media). He has a great website on programming math

https://wordsandbuttons.online/

He's been posting to Medium from Kyiv

Edit: I want to excerpt this paragraph from the post above.

"If you want to help Ukraine with your thoughts — put them in the internet. Do a blog post, write an article, tweet. You might think that your opinion is just an opinion, it can’t possibly save a life. No. I’m assuring you, as a first-row witness, that your support can save a soul."

Edit: he has a book available in early access on all that math you get quizzed on if you're a game programmer.

If you have a github account, you can add this #StandWithUkraine banner to your profile or project

https://stand-with-ukraine.pp.ua/AddBanner.html

It's created by a Ukrainian developer in Kyiv
