I opened the Options menu to see what could be done there. However, there is no indication of where the cursor is, and I cannot go back out of the menu. This results in a hard crash of the game.

yea same issue here

if you start a New Game and press Escape and go to the Options from there by navigating with the Arrow Keys you can change it there but sadly you cant save your options from what ive seen :(
