I was wondering if we could have more opinion for bans

For example: we could give the player a reason and it would be visible to the player who is banned and we could also ban them for a certain amount of time

because right now if you get banned you could have no idea what happened as it kind of just looks like the whole community was shut down

Is this going to get a reply

I think banning for just a certain period of time is rather pointless. Generally, good moderators will warn users before banning them and only if the poor behaviour continues should they proceed with a ban.

Eh, I just think it would be easier for timed bans.

Because if I ban someone from my community I always  ban them for a certain time but then only forget to unban them after a certain amount of time.

in that case he is not a good moderator

he "banned" someone for saying igio's is the

No, I actually deleted the original post, but they actually said, 'I want to lick igio's nuts'

then why didnt you reply to that post instead

And anyway I thought that post was too vulgar to keep.

What about the user being given a reason though?

I simply feel like, that it would give users more of a chance to learn, with timed bans,

because simply just giving them a warning, doesn't make the user think, anything that bad is going to happen, they think it's just some dumb warning.

But if they get banned for a certain amount of time, they are actually banned banned, and doesn't let them access the community, which gives them a chance to actually reconsider there actions, instead of getting a single chance to stop, and then an instant permanent ban.

If a warning doesn't make the user think, a timed ban won't help as well. A lesson learned the hard way is way more effective than one with no real consequences.
