How do you run it, through Rosetta (select the app, press Command-I and tick the "Open using Rosetta" check box)?

Thanks this fixed it for me too - perhaps this tip needs to be on the download page as it'll happen on all new Macs now.
same. It never prompted me to use rosetta, just crashed. Using the get info dialog and selecting rosetta works.
