After some digging, I figured out its the new combat system which is absolutely incompatible with that New Horizon Modpack.

Originally, PoTC had only Block and Attack.

Seems like the new engine is defined as parry, block, slash, fast attack, feint (mouse buttons) and a power attack (Shift+Mouse).

None of these work on females and its extremely unbalanced.
