So its been awhile with no updates(atleast nowhere i can see them), everything if focused on the kpop otome, and november 2017 is days away. The lack of updates, or anything on this game is extremely offputting. Are you going to make this release date? If not, I'd really love a refund. My excitement for this game is kinda down the drain. It doesn't look good when a game days from release is getting barely any attention by its creators.
Edit 11/4/17: You guys updated BTS otome just a day ago, your twitter has daily updates (completely based around your BTS otome despite this games incoming release), and still no answer? dude c'mon its November.. Please just give me a refund. I honestly don't want this game anymore.
So it's been pushed back again for December? Maybe it's due to Steam's approval process so it has a later date (wishful thinking perhaps) than when they would release on itchio? Still what you mentioned about the shrinking content worries me too, since on Kickstarter the developers expressed that they wanted to move on from the Mystic Destinies series after Echoes and MDSOA deluxe, I really hope they are not cutting down content to get Echoes as a means to reach that goal. I know that they as a company have the right to make decisions what they do, but I have to wonder, why would a team as small as it is be trying to take on the development of multiple projects at the same time, I don't understand why they've chosen now to start trying to work on TTEOTS when it makes more sense (to me at least) to put all of their limited resources into finishing MDSOA rewards and Echoes? They could always pick up TTEOTS later? I really hope that they give the mini routes at least one CG but now that I think about it, when I played MDSOA I don't remember it being particularly CG heavy, a lot of the time the sprites themselves had their appearances changed for different situations (the backgrounds were also very detailed) and it was still enjoyable so perhaps it will be the same for this game....
Yeah to be honest they should have been giving regular updates here (you put up money before they had even released the product or even a demo so you have just as much right to be informed about the progress of the game) but to be honest the updates to the backers themselves were sparse and infrequent, instead they were mostly posting on their social media accounts about a completely different game that they were working on. I've played MDSOA and enjoyed it so I believe Echoes will be good too (I'm looking forward to playing as Aurelia, the MC from MDSOA was cool but Aurelia is A+) but they really have to work on communicating with those who chose to support their projects financially in much better fashion, especially if a problem arises while working on that said project. At least it is still going to be released I guess.
I completely understand, after echoes is released I think I will probably just stay clear of any of the future projects they release afterwards. Even if I have liked their past work, the way they handle communication as well as other things is ridiculous.
i would prefer at this point if the bts otome does not get that much fame. Its so clearly the game that theyre favoring rn it brings a bad taste in my mouth. I'm a little salty loool. Who can blame me tho? the most recent post they've made was 5 days ago, and it was for the bts otome. Like... awesome. Theres a whole board complaining about your lack of communication, but just push it away because that solves the problem. No need to make a statement, or anything.
It truly does seem we are worthless.
Also still haven't gotten that refund even tho I gave the exact email I use for this account. Cool. I'm guessing they're also expecting everyone to just look at this board if they want a refund to find the link. Cause they didn't stop me from trying for the refund so it seems to be allowed for prepurchasers (if they can somehow find the link)
I was a kickstarter backer who signed up for a refund the first day they offered them and I just got it yesterday. If they're going through them in order then it might be a little while yet.
Well, I had to escalate to a PayPal dispute, but I finally got a refund... not happy, not planning on giving Aeon Dreams any more money in the future =/
Yes i saw something about that on their tumblr. I'm happy at least that they are still clearly going to release Echoes as some point but honestly they need to do something about their communication with those who back their projects and perhaps look into how they prioritize their work.
Did you try opening a dispute through PayPal? I was finally able to get a refund that way.
Yeah I tried, but it's been more then 180 days since I purchased the pre-order, I was a very foolish early adopter when they first put it up on itch.io, and it seems like they killed the dispute from their end and at this stage I don't think they have any intention of refunding me. I feel like I've been scammed by these people.
Oh wow, them actively refusing to refund you is a much bigger deal then them just "forgetting" to give the promised refunds, especially if you waited more than 180 days because they said they'd refund you without you having to jump through those hoops. Do you still have the email they sent where they said they were working with itch.io to refund all preorders? Maybe try contacting itch.io support and find out if that's true and if they can get the ball rolling on their end. I'd assume itch.io admins would be interested to learn that a developer is actively scamming users on their platform and implicitly blaming them ("we are working with itch to refund all preorders within the week" -> no refunds after months -> must be itch's fault).
In fact, I'll send an email myself, but you should, too, since you're the one still out your money.
Yeah, never got it either. Gave them multiple emails, with the one I use for this account they emailed back stating that I hadn't purchased with this email, sent them two others, both my PP account emails, and never even got a response back for those. Think at some point they just stopped looking at the refund request.
Glad to hear it!
I could care less about BTS so I haven't been following that stuff -_- But I was under the impression that they had made the demo as a proof of concept to get a license and that going ahead with making the whole game meant they were successful with that. Did I miss something? Seems risky for them to sell the game if whatever official person they reached out to was aware they were doing it but had said no.
The demo page for the BTS game says this,
"This is an unofficial, fan created sci fi BTS-inspired visual novel game demo by Aeon Dream Studios. We are not affiliated with BigHit Entertainment or BTS in any way."
I would imagine if they had permission by now they would have updated the description. The google play store version also has this statement.
