In some fights you can find caches of equipment, valuables, food, batteries etc. I still really love the idea but I'm not sure how well it works. So my questions for you is: How do you interact with the caches?

  • Are you generally trying to go for these?
  • Or are they more of a side-note that you'll get to if you can spare the action?
  • Or did you never even notice them?

Edit: I am also considering extending the caches for some that may be harder to destroy but that grant Mindset points.

I get all of them.  The only time I don't get them, is when the enemy runs away before I get to attack them.  I kill them before I start killing the enemy.

The one I don't get, is the one that gives me +1 momentum in battle.  I usually don't care about this one at all.  It is not worth wasting an attack on.

  1. Kill enemy followers
  2. Get crates
  3. Kill enemy

Usually I try to get them but my prioritiy is killing the enemy leader, so I think I just get about every fourth of them.

I really like them, I think they add a nice dimension to terrain instead of it all just being neutral or dangerous.  I usually pick them up if convenient, but mostly focus on defeating the enemy leader.

If they rarely gave out large food or luxury good loot they could be a cool comeback mechanic if you are low on resources.

Caches do have a chance to drop a larger chunk of food, or a better item.

I generally hit the opponent first so I can judge if I am trying to go for a full victory with grabbing caches as well or if I just need to win before anything bad happens.
