I can open the game, but I can't click anything once it loads. Cannot select a level, graphics quality, settings, nothing.

Hi, sorry I seem to have missed replying to your post. Your hardware shouldn't have any trouble running it. Seems like there is some problem with the input.

Does the mouse show? Do the buttons go slightly dark when you hover the mouse over them?

Although it is a kind of stupid suggestion sometimes it helps restarting your computer. You could also try running the simulator in a window by using command line parameters as described in the manual, for example: 

-screen-fullscreen 0 -screen-width 800 -screen-height 450
