Ant Farms : Dynasty

Currently we are working on a new game called Ant Farms: Dynasty. This is the third iteration of the game.  We have lots of art to share but I will limit what I show because I don't want to spam the site. We are also working on the games demo as well but the full version not expected to release for about another year. However, I'm very proud of my teams progress on this project. Lots of very talented people helping me make this life long dream game. 


Story Overview:

You are the royal advisor to the queen and command the colony. Your role is to manage the colony and bring prosperity to the kingdom. Your primary objective is to rise up from the dirt, conquer the world and enslave the evil humans. Ant Farms Dynasty offers several features in the game:

  • Civilization Like Parody Game

  • Monster Mode (Player as the NPC and Kill Humans)

About The Art:

Ant Farms has some amazing art. You will see two main styles. Illustrations and common art. The Illustrations are for "Epics". Epics are building or events that will give your colony a boost to production, culture, science or religion.   Below is some samples of the amazing art in progress:




Fighting System:

When I started building this game, I wanted to do something no game has ever tried or done before. I wanted to make a fighting system that will work with all versions of the game Past Present and Future. So for example if we had "Ant farms 1"  for example. I want players from both games to be able to duel each other. I have it mapped out so each game will offer a different fighting advantage over the other but remain balanced.  The real challenge here is keeping all version fair and balanced for all players. So In Dynasty players will have a fighting advantage because the colony will fight as individuals. There is a attribute system you can use to custom build your characters for battle. 

I also plan on remaking the 2nd version called "Ant Farms Gold Edition". This version will be level based system with attributes as well but fight as the colony as a whole. So in a way, your a Boss like entity in battle.  You will only get one turn to attack but deal massive hits. As where in Dynasty, you will cycle through each character, deal smaller blows but have the ability to do different types of attacks. We have not discussed the 4th version of the game yet. I suspect version 4 might be VR or 3d. However, if this fighting concept is successful, we may do another 2d version of the game and focus on another area for players to bring more balance. Maybe a Necromancer version ... who knows. 


   Our Progress:

Right now I'm working on the WBG Core 3.0 update. So my focus has been pulled away from this game while the art team builds more art for us. However, WBG Core 3.0 will play a critical role in the game because it will be our first crafting system. Ant Farms will be very heavy on crafting and trading with other players. I hope it will also have a heavy focus on PVP.  The overall goal for this project is to try some new things as mentioned above and really try to challenge the industry to rethink how it views indie. I also want to inspire other indie devs with this project to show them what you can do with a little creativity.
