Happy new year! Much like last time, I've got a bunch of updates to the community. Some of these have been deployed for a while now, but I'll mention them all so no one misses out.

New features

  • Community profiles: clicking on someone's name now take you to a special community-cenric profile that shows the posts made by that person. This is separate from the developer's page. Here's mine.
  • You can now subscribe to topics: When leaving a top level reply, or when viewing a topic on the top right, you'll find an option to subscribe to a topic. Topics you've subscribed to will send you a notification every time there's a new top level reply. (just as if you created the topic)
  • You can now bookmark topics: On the top right of the topic page you can find a new Bookmark option. Bookmarked topics will show up on the new bookmarks page. This page works just like a category topic listing, showing recently updated things, but only with the topics you've selected.
  • Topic tags: When posting a new topic you'll now notice on some boards that there's an option to select a tag. These tags are board specific and can be created by anyone who owns a community.
  • Any project page can now make their own community.
  • [New 1/3] There's now a Recent posts page where you can see what's new across all categories on a single page. You can find a link to it on the top of the main community page.

New boards

I've added one more board, it's called Game Share. It's a place to recommend other people's games on itch.io. Posting anything you're affiliated with is strictly forbidden!

Misc stuff

  • The default with of topic and category pages is a bit wider
  • The visited link color is now just gray, instead of a confusing purple
  • Fixed a bug where ban lightbox wouldn't open on single post page

Enjoy

Great stuff, love the profile pages! Subscribing to topics will be quite useful, and tags too.

Just added one more addition, the recent posts page. It lets you view all the posts across all categories on the community sorted by recency. A good way to check what's new without having to click around too much.
