Game Reviews?

Hey everyone

I'm assuming press access isn't working and wont be for some time? I was granted access but stumbled across an old post from about 2 years ago saying that the press access feature had been abused and has been disabled?

if  Press Access is no longer available then is there another method to get in touch with devs? I was going to 'advertise' myself here but I think it breaks community rules.  I just wanted to pop myself out there and offer my services.

Was looking forward to having a look at the library of games open for press access and reviewing them. seems a shame.

Thanks In advance for the help

I’m not sure what is the situation with press access, but if you are looking to review other people’s projects you are allowed to post in the community. There are rules about self-promotion, but there is also this rule:

If you’re providing a free service for game developers or players then you can post it. If it’s not a good fit then we’ll archive the topic

However keep in that that’s mostly when interacting within the community. Advertising an external site and asking people to visit that is a “gray” area.

Hope this helps :)

thanks dark for the help, I did email support & hello at itch regarding the issue around press access, do you know what the turnaround time is for a response?

cheers again

The press access program was canceled long ago, because it wasn't working out. No idea why it's still shown in the site as if it was a thing. Sorry about that.

Perhaps forgotten to remove, surfacing only now that people ask about it?

Thanks No time! while its frustrating that the press access program is cancelled obviously i understand. is there another way to contact Developers through Itch or is it a case of posting on here something that conforms to the community guidelines?

Thanks again, sorry for the multiple questions

To quote the rules of this category:

If you're providing a free service for game developers or players then you can post it.

And we're not out to get you, promise. Hope this helps!
