Monophonic pencil mode

Hi. Dragging the pencil randomly around works surprisingly well (I'm used to Logic, with its 12 tone scale), but I feel it should draw monophonically, i.e. not allow multiple notes in the same column. Not sure what other people think about that.

This idea is very interesting.

You mean that instead of drawing what is on the left, it will draw for example what is on the right?

Yes, that's it. It can be tricky to implement properly. When making separate clicks, it should allow multiple simultaneous notes; and erasing should probably not behave like adding. But I realize this adds very little commercial interest to the product.

I think it can be better, so I'll try to implement it 馃槈

This should almost definitely be a toggle, rather than a default.

Good point, thank you.

I would like to see a MONO pencil mode, like it is suggested here, but also would like to see an eraser tool.

Clicking TWO times to remove one dot is annoying. Clicking FORTY TIMES to remove 20 dots is horrible.

Try to hold the mouse button a bit longer:

I'm working on a new feature for the next version that will allow you to draw monophonically, i.e. not allow multiple notes in the same column.

By default, the pencil will draw monophonically, but you can change this behavior by holding down the left shift key while you draw.
