People missing and others stuck in bed

After a while there are people missing, gone without a trace. Also, after sleeping most of them just stands in bed and does nothing. Paid version 0.03.

Thanks for purchasing and playing Mercury Fallen! If colonists die you should receive a notice about in the top right. Colonists will disappear after death as of 0.03. Colonists can die if they can't find available food in storage. I will have to look in to the bed issue as I have not seen that occur. Thanks for the report.

I just got that notification when recording the clip below, but the guy had been missing a long time already. This clip shows people stuck in bed doing nothing, also the current population doesn't go down (5/5). I often run the game in 3x speed, if that might have anything to do with it.

Let me know if you want me to try certain things, I really like this game so far and want it to work properly.

Thanks for the additional info. The bed issue looks like a path finding issue where the beds are placed side by side. The colonist can't find a path to get out of the bed from it's current position. This should be an easy fix for the next version. In the mean time beds spaced out by one tile should work fine.

The colonist count not going down is an oversight on my part and I've added that to the bug list as well. I'm actively working on additional performance optimizations to reduce lag in the later stages of play.

Yes, I'm getting severe freezes where everything is completely frozen for 3-5 seconds every 20 seconds or so. Also have a bug where there are +200 fabricated meals on the ground and nobody is picking them up. They don't seem to starve though so I guess they will pick one up when hungry.

Got the same issues.
Game freezes constantly.
I did notice that when a worker is stuck in place i can click on him/her "unload" the job roles and reasign them.
For me they got unstuck then.. important, reasigning after they get unstuck.
Have used this several times now.

Gonna start a thread with my findings so far thought i react to known "issue".

Hi, just to report that the potato to small meal is not working maybe because potato's are not taken to storage as mentioned above and so nothing for cooks to cook. A lot of potential here and a lot to do - I don't envy you as a single person doing all of this, good luck! PS. hopefully work hard on optimisation to prevent game chugging so much.

Thank you so much for the support and for the bug report. Optimizations are the current high priority item for the next update. Potatoes should be taken to the fridge if one is available. I'm still investigating the issue with meals.

Most bugs I have seen have already been reported, but:

I once ordered the construction of a bed and then ordered the destuction of the blueprint, result: The one trying to construct the bed got stuck and eventually died. (Getting stuck is still possible.)
Using seed BUNNY for a 60x60 map generate a map without water. (An example of maps without water is still possible.)
When a botonist is harvesting the game still freezes for a few seconds.

That's a pretty horrible way to die. This should be resolved in the upcoming version.

Strange. If I use the bunny seed to start a new game I can see on the new game map overview that there is water generated.

First round of performance enhancements are coming in the next version which I hope to have out the door very soon.

Ah! it is bunny (All lower case letters, Not upper case.).

The latest update that resolved the water is in alpha 0.03. The demo is pre-alpha.  


Noticed that colonists do not get stuck in beds if u leave 1 space between the beds and the wall and bed :)
