Wow, my co-designer is ecstatic! Neither of us thought we'd hit the goal in a day. He has enough money to get a decent Chromebook that will let him stream browser games. I'm hesitant to raise the goal, because the next level would be a refurbished Windows laptop with a GeForce chip that would let him stream Roblox and Steam games, and that would be another $600 or so, 300% of the goal, and seems like an unlikely stretch. But the sale runs until Halloween, so if it continues to make money, that's how he'll spend it. Thank you! He hopes you enjoy the game. |
My kiddo has been saving his birthday and Christmas money for two years for a laptop/Chromebook to stream video games he likes. He's up to $150, but it's not enough.
And then we recently designed this journaling game together, and playtested it, and it's fun.
It's two randomly rolled prompts and then one final prompt. You're a vampyre who makes their life better. It's his concept, and prompts, with some language tweaks and layout by me.
It was about two pages of journaling for me, and more impactful than you might expect from a game by a ten year old.
So I'm putting a small goal on it. I'm not sure a laptop that's good enough for streaming Roblox games like he wants is in reach. But maybe a Chromebook that's good enough for the browser games and rhythm games he likes?
Thank you.
