Living on the edge of poverty for a long time means that you rack up a bunch of debt, which we'd now like to start paying down! Note that the goal amount is only a fraction of the total we owe (which we're not posting) so if we meet and exceed the goal, that'll also help to pay off debt!
Trust us, as much as we'd like to take a bunch of money and go "yeehaw!" with it and buy that hot Playstation 5, it'd be a lot more wise to just pay down credit with it. (And yes, some of the money from launch did go to that!)
The goal of $1000 is only the initial goal. If we reach it, we'll increase it. Let's see how much we can do! (we have quite a bit of debt, as stated 💀)
