I actually did try for a control scheme like that at first, but it didnt felt as intuitive as I thought so I opted for the usual 8 direction control instead. Others have mentioned about this though so I'll see if I can add it back in as an option. More enemy varieties are definitely planned too. Thanks for the feedback.

Hey, thanks for playing.

  • My main target platform was just on itch so I hadn't considered that. I'll keep that in mind.
  • I did try to adjust the existing enemies' speed and whatnot to see if it makes it difficult, but yeah it's easy to cheese the game. Most of my plans after prealpha is to work on the enemies to prevent things like that.
  • It should be, but thanks for letting me know.

Vertically scrolling vampire survivors kinda game, thats a pretty neat idea. Found myself playing a bunch of times.  I like the aesthetics and the layout, it looks like one of those DOS games that has the score, inventory, health and upgrades and whatnot all in one screen next to the game screen.

I think there's some tweaking needed when it comes to balance and economy. It's easier to miss the cash orbs(?) compared to VS because of the auto scrolling so naturally I'd be earing less item over the run which is fine, but it did feel like I had to get 3-4 of the same upgrades or get lucky with items like Powerstance to be able to keep up my damage. Some upgrades seems to have really small improvement on level up, so I couldnt tell if some items like the item pickup range upgrade did anything. Looking forward to playing new characters too.

Nice concept, and really well made too. I'm too much of a brainlet for games like this so getting high scores is out of the question though. Controlling using the arrow keys on an isometic view can get awkward, and you'd have to use a mouse to navigate the rest of the game anyways, so I think it might be better if you could rotate the dice by tapping on the tile you want to go to. Combo system on a puzzle game like this is pretty cool so good job on that!

I only got to finish chapter 2 but I liked it a lot, really loved the choice of music and atmosphere you were going for too. The pogo controls is a nice challenge to get used to, but when I start moving too quickly it became difficult to regain control of the pogo stick and at that point it was faster to smack your head against a wall and return to the checkpoint, so some way to reset or slow down your movement state might be nice.

Amazing visuals, really impressive that this was all done in 3 hours.
