Unfortunately not, due to circumstances out of my control, all Steam and RPG Maker purchased versions of my packs are limited to use in RPG Maker Engines. Really sorry.

Hey, if you could let me know what engine you’re using and which folder you’re grabbing that file from, I’ll check it out. Thanks!

Apologies that my recent Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis and subsequent treatment are an “annoyance”.  That aside, I’m actively working on multiple sets right now. These are a lot of work and take a lot of time, especially when dealing with serious health issues, but they are coming. If you’d rather not wait and find another style to use, please be my guest. Itch has a ton of amazing content from some brilliant artists who’s personal circumstance and might be a little leas annoying.

Hey there! I'll be honest, I haven't actually used RPG Maker XP in a very, very long time and I can't remember what the formatting is... I imagine there may be a lot of editing required. Not of the sprites or tiles themselves, but just copy/pasting things into the correct format size. So, I know it's not much of an answer but your mileage will vary. If you've converted VX Ace tiles and characters into XP before, it should be a pretty simple process, but if not it could be tricky.

Hey! That's so cool! I'll download it and check it out. And yup, you credited 100% correctly, thank you.

Hey there, first off thank you for picking up the packs. I’m not sure if you’re referring to just the characters or the tiles too but in the Horror City base-pack alone there are roughly 3,800 individual tiles, not including all the multiple variations of the 9-slice autotiles. That’s just the base pack. If you were to add in the additional sets that number would probably increase by another 1,000 at least. Slasher Forest is another 5,000 or so I believe. I’d love to be able to offer formatting that works easily for every single engine, however the process of cropping and saving down that many tiles with the correct names and descriptive folders would take months of work that I just don’t have the time to do if I want to actually make graphics. Sorry if the layout of the tilesets is confusing, I’ve tried my best to make everything as readable as possible and group things together in a logical way.

Sorry, don't really know what you mean by extra challenging? I exclusively use windows and haven't had any problems with the .rar format - creating or unpacking.

Unfortunately I don't have access to the RPG Maker Steam account so I can't update files easily on there... however!

RPG Maker Web and Steam versions can be found here :)

The Lazy Tileset files for MV have been added. They're separated into Exterior Forest, Exterior Lodge and Interior. The exteriors for the Forest and Lodge share the same A1-A4 tiles.

Gah! Sorry about that! Fixed now.

See, this is why I ask because I rush things and make stupid ass mistakes like this haha. Thanks for your patience!

I honestly thought I'd done the Lazy Tilesets file for this pack but apparently not! I'm currently having some trouble getting MV to work at all since the latest update, but as soon as I sort that out I'll get the files added.

Hey there, sorry about that - the downed poses for the killers have now been added to all versions! Just re-download the .rar files and they should be in the Characters folder. Please let me know if the updated files aren't working. Thanks for the heads up :)

Sorry for the delay - if you're using RPG Maker the easiest way to get the cliff edges to display correctly in this instance is to use something call Shift Mapping or Shift Click Mapping. There are a ton of tutorials and videos out there that can explain in greater detail, but the general idea is that if you hold Shift when placing tiles, they will not trigger any surrounding autotiles to change. When placing any tiles on-top of an autotile such as water, try holding the shift click when you place them. There are more advanced techniques with Shift Mapping and I reccomend checking out the tutorials on it, but I hope that helps for now!

Hey there, this will vary greatly depending on what engine/program you're using. The lighting effects with black backgrounds are designed to be used with an Addition/Additive blending mode added so that the lights vary in brightness and transparency the further they are from black. How you achieve this will depend on what program you're using and unfortunaely, I'm unable to learn the ins and outs of all the engines that can use these resources, but if you do a search on blending modes or Addition/Additive blend type for the engine you're using, hopefully you should be able to find a tutorial that can help you get the most out of those particular graphics.

Sorry, I'm having trouble visualising exactly which tiles you mean and what the issue is. Is there any way you could take a screenshot and drop me a link so I can try and help?

I will definitely be making more sprites in this style, yes :)

No, the sprites have animations and poses listed above only.

Hey, sorry for the delayed response! Fighting a nasty virus at the moment. Just seen your email and yup that's absolutely fine - just no redistribution of the assets as-is please. I'm sure you know already but using them in the game is fine but posting those files like on a forum or blog or twitter or whatever is not :D Happy Game Dev~

Yeah, sorry! It's a bit of a pain but Itch automatically makes a bundle if more than one pack is included in the same Sale and there's no way to switch it off >_<

(1 edit)

Hey there! The bundle is created automatically because all products are on sale, but each product is available individually at 50% off too :) Just go to the product pages and check underneath the the bundle - there should be a "Buy Now" button with the Sale price next to it.

For example, the Slasher Forest Tile Pack is down from $24.99 to $12.49 in the sale! Hope that clears things up :D

Next sale starts tomorrow! And thank you very much, I was overwhelmed with the support for the Wheelchair sale. I've got my wheels now and used some of the extra money to fit new grab rails and other household improvements to help with my day to day mobility needs. Huge thanks to you and everyone who picked up the bundle.

Hey there, sorry for the delay in getting back to you - I'm currently looking at a few different options for bundles, hoping to get something implemented soon. The slight issue is that I plan to do a big sale for the month of October for Halloween and didn't want to go from one sale straight into another - so if you think you could hold on for a little longer, October should have the best deals available by a long shot!

No problem, it happens to the best of us XD

All the tiles are formatted in 16x16 [or 32x32 if using them for VX Ace] so what you've got there are actually 4 tiles. The lower left 16x16 tile is the clean floor tile that you can use to cover large areas, the one above with the dark edge can be used for tiles that touch walls [not necessary, but some people like that look] and the two to the right are dirt variants you can use to break up the grid or add some grime to your locations if needs be.

Thanks very much! Here's another couple of shots of interiors.

There are lair tiles, mansion interior tiles, lodge interior tiles, bunk house objects etc. There's a fair bit in here I think. There are 24 different interior wall types, a bunch of flooring options, rugs, broken floorboards, beds, tables, bookshelves, a TV, sofas, pipes, drapes, fireplaces, and some dilapidated/damaged versions of tiles you can use for run-down or abandoned areas. And a bunch of other stuff as you can see in the screenshots.

Awesome! I'm glad you like it. Those are really great suggestions and should fit in nicely with what I have planned next. I'll definitely see if I can fit these into the next pack.

Hey there. There currently aren't any animations besides walking included for the characters - if this is something that gets a lot of interest, I'll certainly look to add them. But there are no plans currently - right now I'm focused on expanding environments with more tiles.

Hey there, if you're just using the screenshots for presentation purposes that's fine - so long as no claim is made that you own or have created the content. Hope that helps.

Damn, I'm sorry to hear you've been having a tough time, but I'm super glad things are looking up! I hope this pack helps you in all you game dev endeavours. Thank you!

Yup! Edits are fine, so long as you don't share/sell/post them for others to use. (:

Hey Leonardo. The short answer is, yes you would need to purchase a new license to use these assets in Game Maker Studio.

The reason for this, and the longer answer, is that as standard all resource packs sold on rpgmaker.web only come with a license that allows use within RPG Maker engines. This isn't a policy I have chosen, but rather the way that selling content on that site works. They sell a specific game creation engine and as such, do not as standard endorse, support or offer licenses for any other engine, such as Game Maker Studio, Construct, Unity etc.

The fact that the license you bought is only for RPG Maker engines should have been clearly posted on the page where you made your purchase and is definitely written up in the included EULA and license files provided with the asset pack. I'm really sorry for any inconvenience.

All my best.

Hey! There are a few differences between the packs so, bear with me and I'll try my best to explain.

The packs available currently on Itch do not contain all of the resources from the Steam bundle - The Sprite Packs contain all the character sprites and portraits available in the Steam packs plus some exclusive sprites - the Tile packs contain completely different tiles from the Steam bundle, some of which are only available exclusively from Itch.

I will be making the tiles from the Steam bundle available on Itch as soon as possible, however it takes some time to convert all the auto-tiles for use in engines other than RPG Maker. I'm hoping to have them out in the next week or two, so please keep an eye out. Thanks for the interest. Hope that answered your question but if you need any more info, please just let me know :)

Hey. Use in commercial games without royalties is fine, promotional content and merchandise is also fine [PS. If you did do any merch, I'd love to see it!]. What is not allowed is the claiming of the tileset as your own creation or the resale of the assets "as-is" so, no repackaging the tileset and selling it as a tileset. Hope that helps :)

Thanks very much! I'm planning on releasing as much Horror City/POP! stuff here as possible - however, all the autotiles have to be converted from RPG Maker format to work in other engines, which isn't a simple process, so it might take a while. I'll be putting everything here as soon as it's done though, so keep an eye out :)

Great little game. Really enjoyed playing it! I haven't exhausted all the emotions as I want some surprises in the full version but I can't wait to see where you go with this. Filled out the feedback form and hope to hear more about this soon!

Nice! Looking really cool. The game concept sounds really interesting too!

Hey there, sorry for the late reply! There are currently no animated tiles in the set, however I will be updating and adding to this pack in the future so I'll keep that in mind. The tiles are all made to a 16x16 grid.

I'll definitely keep it in mind! I've got a lot of content in that style - will have to dig through it and see what can be put together :)

Hey KaBlooZio, thank you very much! I currently don't have anything else up here - working on a game jam at the moment but as soon as that's done I should have more time to work on pixel art packs. Any suggestions for what you'd like to see?

Sharm! Aw, thank you so much :D They're just a little something fun and colourful - I'll likely add to them or expand the style if it does well.
